"The White" by Aeric Horn

This is one of the greatest things anyone has ever done for me, to write a poem in my honor. Aeric wrote this when I had once departed from the lands to remember me by.

A TOAST! A TOAST!

Tell me friends... do ye recall
when The White would send the battle call
and stalwart fighters all would rally 'round?

Stout steeds gave forth their winter breath
The White, he'd say "do not fear death"
and we'd all fall in behind without a sound

To the battle we at last would come
To aid friends, and see justice done
The White led ever onward, win or lose

At battle's end we'd raise an ale..
dance a jig, and tell a tale
so many sleeping hours did we lose.

And now again the fiends we fight
But now we go without The White
Yet the spirit of he and others still lives on

As I raise this ale with friends tonight
And make this toast unto The White
We remember all good friends who now are gone

TO THE WHITE!

Damn. I wish I knew him better now that my chance is gone.

Would that I would remember that fact of life.

I remember when he wrote that poem, Py.
He had sent it to me over ICQ...

You and I (and many others) were lucky to have a friend who was so passionate.

I'm going to miss him so much.

I remember when he read that aloud for us, in Wispwood Shire. I was so struck by his creativity and passionate heart! When I would begin to falter, he had the unerring knack of inspiring me anew.

If bulletin boards do not retain their messages when moved to a new home, I shall remain in my small place, which holds his memory.

We were indeed fortunate to have known him... somehow, being around him made me feel more... more passionate about what I was doing, more aware of myself, of my strengths and failings, more human.

Always too late we wish to have back time we've lost, when we realize what we have lost. We should all take a lesson from this and spend time with the ones we love.

Thinking of my old friend tonight, what an honor he did for me. I loved him like a brother. All honor to Aeric Horn.

Aeric was good people! He was one of the few that was as he appeared. I wonder how he would have felt if he had known the truth of things.
