The value of Focus(110) and Meditation(110)

I have a Mage + Spellweaver, well it looks like I can llive with that combo vs Mage + Ninjitsu(sp?) as I could not figure out how to raise the Ninjitsu skill (past oh say 62.1) without hiding and stealth.

Ok, Spellweaving cost mana. I can see the point, somewhat, of Focus being GM'd.

I can see the point of meditation for sure.

But reading through the information on Focus, it doesn't seem to me that there is any benefit to raising Focus to 110 as I can not see that it adds anything to the Mana Regen.

Is that correct, that taking Focus to 110 is, from a mana regen perspective, a waste of 10 skill points?

yes it gives you like .05 so from a mana regen perspective in a medable suit you are correct

Also, I think you can raise Ninja without hiding and stealth buy equiping jewels to get to the minimum for Death Strike and using that a lot (I think on your own, blue horse works)

it does give you 1per20 so 20,40,60,80,100,120 110 is no benifit cause it drops the fractions I believe you still would get the stamina point at 110 but the op was concerned with mana..

As storm said, I have no concern for the Stamina regen part of Focus, as at GM I am never seeing a Stamina loss anyway.

Mostly I am committing the 100 to Focus for the Mana Regen part. On My shard a 120 Focus is around 2M and I am not all that hot to pay out 2M for a 1 point Mana Regen.

As for the Ninjitsu, I got it up to what around 62.x, I had a +14 Bracelet and I just kept looking at the value of Ninjitsu (to me the run speed increase as I can NOT use Ethy's Grumble and the Charger of the Fallen is a more money than I care to spend), so I turned Ninjitsu down and did the SpellWeaving quest. I may put SpellWeaving on my other account so I can get some kind of Focus Gem.

Every 10 points in focus = +1 stam regen
Every 20 points in focus = +1 mana regen

Meaning:
110 focus = 5 mana regen and 11 stam regen
100 focus = 5 mana regen and 10 stam regen

Only difference is 1 extra stamina regen, if you are concerned with only MR, there's no point in 110 focus.



Personally, I recommend dropping focus entirely.

You get 20 free focus from JOAT if human. If elf, get a crystalline ring, it gives you 20 focus. 20 focus = 1 Mana regen and 2 Stam regen.

So that's a free MR 1 if you have 0 focus. Plus, that ring has 20 SDI. Very very useful for WOD.

Besides, the extra mana regen from focus will not help you keep up with WOD dumps. Use wraith form to leech back mana instead.

Then you can use those saved points to pump ninjitsu to 70.0. To train past 62, equip a couple of +ninjitsu jewels and train using the higher level spells. Alternatively, use the satyr in twisted weald to lower your skills (not sure if this still works though, haven't tried this for months).

As of Publish 46:
Meditation and /or Focus will now benefit for intermediate values and not just for multiples of 10 (i.e. 80.1 used to give you same MR bonus at 89.9).

I know its not entirely what you were asking it just seemed relavent as the calculations are being explained.

Thanks for that as I had not seen it before.

I will keep focus at 100, save the gold and spend the 10 else where.
