It was also going to be like that, from when we were told to keep these items all that time ago.
If the hand-in proposal is revoked, there will be complaints. If all the items that people have hoarded aren't on the list, there will be complaints. Look at the cloaks of corruption - I am disappointed but its a fair point that not everyone has as many as I do. Look at ophidian orders - Larisa chucked a load just before the announcement recently.
I guess its just going to be a case of making as many people happy as possible. If there are footwear with resists - people will be happy and annoyed. Similarly if there isn't going to be, there will be annoyed people who wanted items like them. I'll probably voice my opinions if I think the rewards are bad ideas.
From personal experience though, I tend to accept changes I like and enjoy them, rather than post about them. Customer satisfaction forms in restaurants - I guarantee that the happy customers are less likely to fill one in than the unhappy ones. So for everbody who complains, there will be the ones who don't that are pretty happy with it.
