Things are usually slower this time of the year anyways. If things haven't picked up in about eight weeks, then you can start getting a little paranoid Also, before UO falls we will lose a few more dev team members.

UO=very little overhead=easy money for EA

It may not be dying and I think these global its dead or great threads are lame.

But the bottom line is... there aint nothing to do.

Keep in mind I believe the game has the responsibility of providing content and action. I pay them.

Starting my nteenth characture on a nteenth shard to build up skills for the nteenth time isnt new content.

SA was great and they tossed that up by caving and putting the resources everywhere.

Mag was a great gold sink

Now a distillary.... in a few weeks it will be like the liquors of the pirate ships.

Randon Content and Adventure please...

UO isnt dying its just gray and dusty... like my Commodore 64. But that is tan and dusty.

UO is not dying, it's already dead. The sky has already fallen.

EA has stopped paying the servers. Sooner or later the vendors will realize this, will realize they aren't getting paid anymore, and shut down the shards, one by one.

Ever experience lag? Yes you have, haven't you. That's definitive proof that I'm right; the lag means, and can only mean, that the server bandwidth is being slowly strangled as a precursor to being shut down entirely.

EA will not admit this but it says all this on my Internet site.

You can trust it. It's on the Internet.

I can't believe you're all still here, playing this dead game. I quit 10 years ago.

I think UO could definitely use a boost. We should all strive to reach former players and get UO back in there minds. UO is an addiction, sometimes all you need is a little taste to get somebody to fall off the wagon.

In the minds of EA foo...err management, the cost of advertising just cannot be justified. Therefor it falls upon the community to do it themselves. Starting today I am putting links to UOherald, UOstratics on my sig on all the other forums I visit. I will also set my FB status to "Come play Ultima Online" with a link to a youtube video of the game.

I still think we should all go troll WoW forums with how that sucks in comparison to UO.... And why WoW could never compete with UO and will always be second rate.

Maybe I'm not in on the joke here, but I'm a returning player and have to say that UO seems better than it ever did, all the changes are great.
The people/vets have been so helpful.

I am hooked yet again, but this time Is worse!

Thank you vets for helping the new/returning players, it is much appreciated.

The NEW guild on Siege has seen a steady influx of new players/new characters over the last couple of months. While some of these characters belong to veteran players who were recently playing on other UO shards, I think a fair number of them are returning players.

Most characters stay in NEW for at least four weeks, perhaps a little longer, and in general are freshly made characters. Some of them, though, are characters made long ago that were abandoned for whatever reason and are now being dusted off and played by their owners.

Below is a list showing when the 58 "new" characters currently in NEW joined the guild. Keep in mind that these totals don't include characters that joined in March or early April and that have already graduated and moved on to other guilds on Siege. Also, don't forget that because you can only have one character per account on Siege, this list gives you a very good idea of accounts that are newly attached to Siege that were never tied to it before.

If it's true that Siege is the last stop for many veteran characters who have become disenchanted with other shards, the growth on Siege may be either a warning sign to EA that some things about UO in general on the production shards need to change because people who are very addicted to the game have lost faith in it but aren't quite ready to quit, and/or perhaps there's something about Siege that is worth nurturing to try to get even more former players to come back to UO.

Napa Valley just had a player return that I had not seen in years.

I would like to personally welcome Rogal Dorn back to Napa.

Also, in the past month I have seen several new players.
