The Shame "Base Equipment" Run...

Ok, I've done the "Shame with all your collected/crafted/Imbued gear" thing for a few days now. I've collected a bunch of stuff, some just to dump into junk BODs/resmelted, some that get unraveled, some get trashed for points, and some to keep for one reason or another.

Now I'm thinking of going at the dungeon in a different manner. Instead of being completely decked out at the start, I'm thinking of how to gear DOWN, then use the loot within to build.

To start, let's separate the various equipment types into Armor, Weapon, Jewelry, Talisman, and Clothing.

Armor: Plan is to create a GM suit focus on Physical Resist and probably Fire Resist (flame elems) or Poison Resist (Scorps)

Weapon: I have an imbued out Elem Slayer, Slayers seem to drop, but very rarely, the alternative would be either a straight GM made weapon or a low-level Runic Weapon with Elem or Earth Elem slayer.

Jewelry: The plan is no jewelry to start, this will be the main use what you find aspect

Talisman and Clothing: Right now I use a Conjurer's Trinket, Cincture, Snake Skin Boots, Shadow Cloak of Rejuv and Cloak of Life Since these types of items don't drop, I'm thinking these may be my "luxury allowances"

Could be an interesting run to see what develops in terms of gear. Anyone have thoughts on such starting equipment... allowances, disallowances, etc? Anyone even consider a run like this?

Re: *Thinking* The Shame "Base Equipment" Run...

Take it you had fun on the shard of dead. Snatching what would fill a slot and then trading up whenever something fit better.

Sounds like the next dungeon revamp needs a tweek. No recalling in any matter. Nothing passes through the front door worn or in backpack with mods. Dropbox by the door like a mini bankbox for one item. Another dropbox just inside to recover that item. Method to get that slayer inside or that pendant of the magi for little LRC help besides regs and arcane cloths. BOS and petballs inactive inside. Would need some unique loot chances near the moonstone drop chance inside as a draw. Just think of all the items that see little use and no longer seen on vendors a place like this would generate a need.

Potion supplies

orange pedals

arcane clothing

GM made suits or pieces

fountain bandies.

taste for fish pies at last

quiver of rage.

neon weapons

Reagent bulk supplies like all that fertile dirt and pig iron never looted.

Setting off, I decided on the following setup:

Armor: GM Spined Leather suit: Resists 70/53/38/42*/39 Luck 240
Weapon: GM Tetsubo DI +36%
Jewelry: None
Talisman/Clothing: Trinket, Cincture, Snake Skin Boots*, Shadow Cloak of Rejuvenation, Cloak of Life, Nocturne Earrings

* +2 Poison Resist from boots

First Pickup was a bracelet out of a Barrel: DI +1

Second pickup was a Plate Chest Luck 30 10/3/7/8/7 (To be enhanced with Gold) (Successfully enhanced) 11/4/9/8/9 New suit 70/51/37/43/42 Luck 270

Third Pickup: Third Pickup: Ring Taming +5 Str 1 Int 1 Mana Regen 1 Luck 30 (New Luck 300)

Fourth/Fifth Pickup... new Ring/Bracelet: Ring: Ninjitsu +5 FCR 1 LRC 20% DI 10% Phys Resist 5%
Bracelet: Stealing +5 Taming +5 Music +10 SSI 5% DI 5% (Cursed)

Obviously the skills aren't useful, but in this case, the SSI and DI win. It is slower going since not being suited out you have to be a bit more careful even on Level 1. The buildup continues... it will be interesting to see if any "theme" comes out of the drops.
