The Real 15th Anniversary

Well i have obviously read so many excited people with the upcoming 15th anniversary of UO, but unfortunately before you become to eager and to overexpecting let me give you a touch of reality.

The best you can hope for from the 15th anniversary is going to be some new monster that is going to drop some new item that unfortunately no one will care about.
There will be no advertisting, there will be no notice by the gaming community, mostly because they have nothing to brag about, and the 1000s if not 10s of 1000s of players who have left on bad terms have assured this.
It really doesnt make sense why they cant fix some bugs or try to balance pvp. It really is a straight lie that it would require a lot of effort or cost, these statements are made by people who basically arent willing to spend even a portion of what they recieve to maintain its life. Why? Corporate greed.

Basically the 15th can be counted on ushering in a whole new wave of people leaving UO. Too many people are watching, waiting with that anticipation of a rebirth, only to get the biggest disappointment BY FAR from our o so talented dev team.

To those who believe that this kind of behavior serves to build the community, while complaining about others activitys on forums like this, as if it could even come CLOSE to the destruction they have caused themselves is rediculous. You are ignorant, you have chosen to be blind to the games massive shrinking in just the last few months alone, you have chosen to be used, for money, and you have chosen to pay for almost nothing. But again it doesnt take a crystal ball to see you will be by far having even less company by the end of this year. A year where even the people who owned the game didn't really care.

I read this and chuckle to myself. Everyone knows how little has been done in uo over the years. The bugs are agrivating. We have had some crappy staff even over the years. By far in game help is really lacking. Hey i can go as far as some of the stuff added item wise has been lacking ALOT, but I love the game and continue to play because I love the game. It has nothing to do with anything more then that. I continue to pay my money to play for a game that still after 12 years still interest me. I have no false hopes of the corperations changing anything. I have respect for Messanna for her contributions even. She is one person and i think she will go all out for us if the corperation lets her. PvP im not sure of the balances your speaking of. I pvp alone and do very well without cheats hacks or anything and i fight multiple guilds and players. I think it is how you learn to deal with the situations. I have never understood what people are talking about in balancing pvp your either good because you adapt and over come or you just arnt a good pvper to begin with. To those who did the covetous dungeon only complaint i have about it is you forgot to turn stealing from the mobs on hehe. Other then that awsome job!!! best dungeon yet. Cora is lacking but the rest of the dungeon rocks!!!

15 years is something to brag about, and the gaming community talks about UO on a regular basis on other websites.

That's a little stronger than I would have said, but I do agree that keeping us ignorant of UO's future plans does not help the community one bit.

I've seen a lot of people leaving lately, with the reason being that they seemed to have given up on UO. In the past week on Stratics, it's been one of the mods and also Pinco, but I've seen many more in game giving away stuff or telling me they are putting their accounts on hold. I think if there are serious long-term plans for UO, and that includes actually doing something with the high resolution graphics update, then I think maybe somebody should be talking about them now before too many more people lose interest or give up hope that things are being done.

i can completly agree their. I believe their should be some communication on what is happening sense this is a communtiy based game. sense we are the fuel behind the fire so to speak. meaning we pay for it lol. I would love to know and even have a say in what i pay for.

I have never understood what people are talking about in balancing pvp your either good because you adapt and over come or you just arnt a good pvper to begin with.
Because when something is horrificly overpowered, much like mystics were (and in some ways still are, but more on the PVM side now) "adapting" means spend hundreds of hours grinding more skills to meet that exact template with that exact gear to be able to fight on even ground. There should never be the introduction of something so unbalancing that it obsoletes entire skillsets to the point where you're a "noob" if you still want to use them in pvp.

or perhaps mages would like it if us dexxers still had chain evade w/ resist and honor bonus in pvp....because anyone who plays anything but a samurai dexxer in pvp is a "noob" and just needs to "adapt". (for those that don't remember, when SE came out you could recast evade before it ran out and it's block chance for both spells and hits was higher, meaning you chained it and you basicly couldn't get hit by spells at all)
