There has been a steady improvement.
Used to be you MIGHT have one dev or the community coordinator be the least bit active with the players and player ideas and requests were generally greeted with skepticism.
Pandemonium was the first dev I remember that took it upon himself to start trying out ideas and seeing what could be done with the game which later expanded to Firedog, then to Leurocian.
After that, it seemed like things started moving in a better direction overall dev-wise especially over the past two years up till the move from CA to VA. Now that the move is done, looks like we're getting some more interaction which is great.
The updates from Leuro on what's headed towards QA, even if it's just a few items every so often are GREAT imo. It lets us know that while there isn't a distinct timeframe on when the fixes will be available, at least there are some coming.
Communication is a HUGE part in helping the players feel more at ease with the position UO is in and the devs have done a LOT better job at it.
