For weeks they have been:
1) Talking to us
2) Taking-out cheaters
3) Making game improvements
It feels like a new game...with a future!
I may have to reward the Devs by re-opening an closed account or two!

You must be new. They do this type of burst once a year to chill out the haters.

Well I'm 89 months new on my oldest account and I can say that I haven't seen the type of negative conduct you claim is typical of the Devs. I guess I'm just a "the glass is half full" kind a person instead of a gloomy-guss. I truely believe the Devs want to make UO a seriously great game but that goal is not easy or trivial. The Dev activity I have seen in the last few weeks is very encouraging and makes me feel that UO has a future. Are you so negatve that you predict doom and gloom? If yes...why are you playing UO???

I'm optimistic too. I'm getting the feeling that the guys have more freedom in Virginia than they had in Redwood, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

I'm looking forward to the future now, where a few weeks ago I was depressed to think the end was in sight.

Anyone going to the next town hall, give the guys a hug from me hmm? I'll never meet them myself.

I'm too, are happy for this change in the way Devs communicate to us and do stuff, it feels good.

I especially like the way they firebomb the houses as part of wiping their existance from the shard.

No longer is it:
"Ooh, did miner001 move away?"

Now it's:
"Ooh, they caught miner001!"

I think it's a great way to get them to.

Burn them out!

That's how I agree right? Without making a whole long speech... About how I think that with all the Devs have had to go through in their personal lives... and how they are subjected to unrelenting critism... they still have an obvious passion for the game...

Just one thing I long for... I remember way back before the totally complicated uber-events with ophidians and deamons on steroids....

PIRATES INVADED MOONGLOW AND IT WAS SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!

I think some of the Devs were pirates as well as NPC pirates... just a lotta fun.

*coughs*

...

There has been a steady improvement.

Used to be you MIGHT have one dev or the community coordinator be the least bit active with the players and player ideas and requests were generally greeted with skepticism.

Pandemonium was the first dev I remember that took it upon himself to start trying out ideas and seeing what could be done with the game which later expanded to Firedog, then to Leurocian.

After that, it seemed like things started moving in a better direction overall dev-wise especially over the past two years up till the move from CA to VA. Now that the move is done, looks like we're getting some more interaction which is great.

The updates from Leuro on what's headed towards QA, even if it's just a few items every so often are GREAT imo. It lets us know that while there isn't a distinct timeframe on when the fixes will be available, at least there are some coming.

Communication is a HUGE part in helping the players feel more at ease with the position UO is in and the devs have done a LOT better job at it.
