The need for SSI

Hey.

I've been crafting Leafblades for my Sampire and been imbuing SSI on to them. Then I had a look at the SSI calc and it seems that its not really needed.

I have 5ssi on my suit (can go to 10 if needed) and with 180 stam. I Swing at max. Even down to 150 stam, I still swing at max, well, the calc says I do!

Is that correct? So can I stop sticking SSI on and add another mod instead?

Thanks

Yes. Skip the SSI, imbue something else. It's not needed on pretty much any of the fencing weapons.

Maybe Im mistaken But according to the wep calc I should be swinging at cap but when I add in divine fury there is a noticeable difference. Is divine fury added post cap? Or am I just using such slow and heavy weps that im not actually at cap

I have 15 ssi on the suit (bezerker+augy wings)
garish bone harvester +30 ssi
glass sword no ssi
181 stm

That should be cap but when I cast DF i swing faster!

Whats up with that?

was about to post about the above and other ssi issues. I wouldnt think divine fury could put someone above the cap, but who knows. I seem to notice the difference too, which if im not delusional would mean that i should overcap a suit. i could get dci to 55 without ruining a suit (tangle would ruin it) still having 45 hci.

I'm very very suspicious of ssi right now. Just incorporated insane tinkers into my suit so was doing some testing. at over 180 stam, and at 45 or 50 ssi my ornate still seems slower than a radiant with just ssi from the suit. They should be the same at max stam.

Im beggining to think ssi is kinda broken or something, hope i am wrong tho.

Are you saying that you think you aren't swinging at SSI Cap prior to divine fury, but after fury you hit the 1.25?

Or are you saying that you think divine fury takes you over the 1.25?

I'd say this, I've noticed the same with my Sampire. 10 SSI on the suit, 182 stam, it seemed slow, then when I hit DF, it it sped up to where I thought it should be. I'll look at it again tonight.

Thats correct. 5 or 10 ssi dont seem to make a difference here.

However, my personal preference is to use 20 or even 35 ssi for general purpose leafblades, because i might use them in situations where the bigger stam buffer is more useful for survival then another mod.

If im going to farm something easy that doesnt drop me below 150 stamina very often, i consider other weapons that might do more damage.

5 or 10 SSI may or may not do any difference depending on your stam pool and the base speed of your weapon. It's not always enough to gain a tic.

I want to be sure everyone reading this thread, remembers that when you drop from 181 stam, to say, 90 stam, your swing speed is dropped appropriatley. Once you Divine Fury, your stam is again taken back to max and you again swing at the max you should.

I am not aware of Divine allowing you to swing faster than the 1.25 cap, but this is UO and anything is possible.

On my Sampire, I have 174 Stamina and 10 SSI (ring/Cloak). More than enough to swing a Leafblade at 1.25. But, after I cast DF, I could swear I swing just a little faster. Maybe it's just me, and there really isn't a way to prove it. *shrug*
