We are having our 3rd Annual Holiday Gift-Away again this year, with over 125 million in gold and high end items. No gift worth less than 250K. We will be handing out keys to the first 260 people that come by. Each key will open one of the locked boxes located on the third floor and the roof of the house. Please note that this event has been extremely popular in the past years and the keys go very fast so it will handled on a first come, first serve basis.

Some of the gifts include, but are not limited to: One box with 10 mil, an ornament of the magician (not cursed), various other artie 11's, 120 Power Scrolls, (50) 500K checks, (150) 250K checks, and other high end items.

Thank you MOP for running this. I know how much hard work goes into these things and it was a lot of fun. Having "Santa" hand out the keys was a nice touch. Nicely done and Merry Christmas.

Heh very much to my surprise when I got on this evening I got a PM notifying me that they saved a few chests for those of us (me) not fortunate enough to be able to attend! I just happened to open a chest for 250k which couldn't come at a better time as I've convinced my wife to give the game a shot. All of the money I recieved (Pretty much all the money I have right now ) will be used to gear up her toon and get it ready to go.

Sorry for the delay in posting this, it's been a bit hectic for us.

We had a great turn-out for the event this year and we hope everyone who attended had a great time, we sure did despite some logistical nightmares that plagued us just hours before the event. We logged in on Saturday ready to finish up all the last minute details, and suddenly our outside teleporter to the roof (where the majority of boxes were already set into place) was broken! For some odd reason, after owning the house for many years, the teleporter chose this particular day to decide not to function. We also found that there were certain areas on all the floors of the house that could not be walked in or anything on those tiles could not be accessed. We did nothing different that would have caused this, except for set up boxes in the house. It was the strangest thing. Because we have vendors in the house, we could not go into customize mode to try and fix it (even if that was possible). We tried everything we could think of to fix the problem. We unlocked and moved many things, we set and reset the security on the teleporter, etc. It was still broken. Finally, we paged a GM, then proceeded to wait as we kept our fingers crossed. A short amount of time passed, and alas, a GM assisted us in fixing the problem! Apparently, changing the foundation of the house was what needed to be done to fix it. When we asked why this happened, he could not answer us, as he did not know, but said it's just something that occasionally happens and when it does, the foundation change is the fix. We cannot tell you how grateful we were to that GM! He saved the event!

We ended up having a total of 270 boxes, this was 30 more than last year. Every key was passed out. We did have an extremely hard time trying to find out who received what gift,(people who were there can attest to the craziness, lol),but we were able to catch a few names of some of the higher end items. Action Jackson [D|R]recieved the 10 million gold gift, Killer [SnR] received the 5 million gold gift and Sumac pulled the jackals collar. The ornament of the magician was pulled by who we believe to be a newer player, based on what he told us. This warms our heart tremendously. We did see the AOF pulled, but did not catch the name of the person who received it, unfortunately.

As mentioned above, we did have a gew griefers there, although they were not lockpickers (these boxes cannot be picked by a lockpicker), they did nonetheless try and spoil it for everyone. We will not say exactly what they were doing, but suffice it to say they did not succeed in ruining the event.

We want to give a special thank you to Blue [MOP], as he contributed some of the gifts for this event.

As we stated above, all the keys were given out, but we do have a few boxes that remain unopen at this time. They have all been consolidated to one spot on the roof of the North Shop. If you still have your key, and never claimed your box, please come and claim your
gift! The boxes will remain on the roof for approximately one week.

Just one more follow up. We have been contacted by the player who pulled the Orny his chars name is Val-Shah-Ri-Lura. He PMed with a really nice heart felt message and as it turns out, he has been playing for about 2 years and has just recently started a mage, not started playing the game as we thought. It was just nice to find the Orny went to a player who really needed it.
