We came across a miner this evening busy doing his work, we stopped to say hello, but to no avail.

As he recalled away we stepped closer to his front steps, Behold thats a heavy chest on the steps there.

As we look in amazement at the weight of the chest we noticed it has gained over 100k since we say it just this morning, this miner must be very busy!

One of our party sets off to find the miner, to see if we can assist in his quest for more ore, surely extra hands make light work!

He is found, where you knew he would be, but not mining, oh no, trying to recall home, to drop off his ore, and again, and again he tries, not knowing that one of my party is still looking at THAT heavy chest on his steps, that has gained over 100k weight since this morning

We try to communicate with the lost miner, but he does not respond, still busy trying to recall home

its a tough life being a miner................

Heh... Edit your screeny's a bit better..

Character search for "Aron Swordsman" only shows up on Europa.. and then seeing the letters...

eppe: followed by recalls means you can do a charname search .. and after Trying Peppe I hit on Beppe.. which indeed is using a pyros staff & has GM mining...

Anyway point is... page on him heh. Do it from hidden so he never sees your character.. be persistent also & eventually if he's AFK you will succeed..

Thanks for your second thread on the same subject in as many days. Just page the GM's and be done with it. Play your personal crusade against the script miners but don't think its gonna stop. Don't lure a monster over to his house.

Keep paging to much on on those guys and get a true welcome. The GM will threaten to punish your account for pointing out they are as useful as butterfly wings on a bulldozer. If that's not visual enough. GMs are as useful as bulls nuts on a field mouse.

In the end and after much hate from the GMs the last two side by side scripters I tried to deal with became flaming rubble. Pointing out I was right and the threats from the GMs BS.

Want to stop the greed just don't buy resourses, gold or rewards. Earn them and have pride in what you accomplished in game. Not being able to solo an ancient wyrm is by no means a fail. It is a goal to strive for in your sandbox while others take pride in writing their name wtih wizz in theirs. And scripters, that is not a sand covered Baby Ruth.

I could be wrong here but nowhere do I see Jack mention the dreaded 's; word in his post. He just states that he gets no answer from the character and that he seems to be extremely busy, he has accused nobody of anything.

His post is just a description of what he has observed if, after reading it, you come to a conclusion lets just say it is a conclusion anyone might come to who has knowledge of the game.

I've been following that char for literally a year and he'll change the place of his house if you bother him long enough. I've paged on him many times, and yet he's still around. I gave up on that guy ages ago, it's no longer fun. =/

Bagballs can be fun.

Also, digging up a ellie and luring it into his vicinity can be fun.

Of course, if it's Fel or Siege, you could just kill him. Simpler.

So...I get a bagball from a Provisioner for a few gold and drop on the scripters recall spots thus blocking them? Do I have to put anything in the bagball?

Do crafted small crates work too? Other items?

Thanks in advance.

Stupid as it is, bag balling the recal spot is illegal. As is luring.

Unfortunatly the way the GM's operate you would be banned while this lost miner is still undergoing slave labour!

Blocking a recall spot IS NOT ILLEGAL.

Please do some research here:

http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cf..._btn_submit=Search&matchweight=1&p_sid=UxqBNI

For platform choose: PC

For game choose: Ultima ONLINE All subs

Category: Rules/policies All subs

Type: "What is physical harrassment?" in the search bar and hit Search:

And you get this page:

http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cf...Rzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NDMsNDMmcF9wcm9kcz03LDc

Which states:

"QUESTION
What is physical harassment?

ANSWER
The following information applies primarily (not exclusively) to the lands of Ilshenar, Malas and the Trammel facet of Ultima Online. While you have the ability to attack other players freely on the Felucca facet, players are generally not able to defend themselves against physical harassment in Trammel, Malas and Ilshenar.

We'd rather not go into the specifics of all the actions we consider physical harrasment, but we do want to make it clear that it is not okay to ruin the fun of UO for other players, specifically when that is the intent behind your actions. It is important to realize and accept that everyone plays this game differently, and everyone has different expectations from the game and from the other players. Ultima Online is a social setting, and as such, we expect our players to treat one another with the same respect and dignity they would use in any other social situation.

If your sole purpose and intent in any action is to continually upset, aggravate, or otherwise annoy another player, you may be a "grief player." Using game mechanics to cause grief to others can also be seen as exploitation, and will be treated accordingly by game staff.

If someone is using grief tactics against you, please report it to a Game Master using the Help button on your paperdoll. Once the Help menu appears, choose the Harassment option, and enter the exact name of the other player, and a brief description of his actions. For example: Jody keeps luring these poison ele's to us and hiding. Clearly luring!

The following are NOT considered physical harassment:
Res killing
Stealing or kill stealing
Legal player killing, such as takes place in guild and faction wars
Refusal to take turns at spawn points
Refusal to resurrect another player
Blocking a recall location
Area Peacing

Before you submit a harassment complaint, be sure you understand what constitutes harassment and that you have followed these steps:
You have asked the player to "please stop" (and then they have continued to repeat the offending behavior).
You have tried to remove yourself from the situation, for example, by recalling away or moving several screens.
You have done nothing to instigate or further encourage the harassment.
You have added the player to your ignore list, which is located in your UO options, under Filter Options.
You have read and understand Electronic Arts' definition of harassment, and Electronic Arts' Terms of Service.
Your account information is up to date (including a current email address)."

You MUST however, leave a path through when attempting to block someone's movements.

So it is legal to create a bagball or a candelabra maze so long as an attended person can find a way through and out at some point, though attended players can simply MOVE items that are blocking their path.

The following are NOT considered physical harassment:

Blocking a recall location

Blocking a single recall location may not be considered physical harassment, but intentionally blocking more than one certainly could fall under the much broader statement regarding intentionally disrupting and/or aggravating another players game.

I have several recall spots marked for home for every single character I have. I have three spots marked for my miners and lumberjacks because of spawn in the area and/or jerks like you blocking them just because I don't talk to you. I got news for ya, if you observe and block all three of my recall spots I'll be paging on your ass.

You know another fun way to stop a bot is to drop some like ore on the ground beside them... this causes them to drop their loads on the ground rather than in their box.... loads of fun.....

And I've said this before and I'll say it again... killing and luring things on an Unattended bot is NOT and should NOT be an offense as it's no different that killing an NPC.....

The only differences are NPC's are spawned by the game and can be looted... BOT's are spawned by Players and can NOT be looted.

*buzzer*

No it doesn't, I think you're confusing that with dropping ore beside a macroing miner that doesn't have his UOA set correctly. THEN the ore will drop to the pile instead of his/her backpack.

I go on ore elemental hunts. Now I have to wonder if having a scripted character recall in close by, and get targeted and killed by an ore ele because the character was unattended, and there was no player to move it to safety, counts as a lure kill. I play mages and they have to back off from the ele to fight it or they get killed. An attended character would just move to safety like I do if I'm mining and another miner digs up an ele.
