The Invasions Need Closure

They are now just annoying me and making what could be simple things to do turn into major projects. I've never yet understood, as a non faction player, the entire scenario including the premise and the ending.

After two weeks out of town, I logged in on my tamer last night and awoke in an inn in a town that had been previously devoid of any invasion forces. I was immediately wasted by a collective group of of creatures. Mare dead also and zero probability of recovering anything. What was supposed to be a simple check into something turned into a project including finding aids to ress the mare and also get additional gear.

I play on Siege and understand risk. I'm almost always at risk. When you combine the risk, however, of playing in a solely Fel ruleset along with random monster invasions that appear that they will last forever it just gets old. Simple stuff like figuring out where to buy stuff is an issue and it's getting old for me. Trying to figure out which town to go to buy a vendor rental contract shouldn't be overly complicated. Everyone only has so much time.

When is this gonna end? Can it be moved to Luna? Just my thoughts.

Can you not move to Luna?
Or Umbra?
Or Jhelom?

Plenty of safe places about.
Zento, Delucia, Paupau, Cove, Serpents Hold, Buc's Den... I think only about half of the towns are actually affected by the invasions.

Aye thats true. but with everything no matter how good or bad there will be people to complain because it doesnt suit them individually.

If anything (for myself) id like the invasion to go a little bit longer because due to personal reasons ive not been able to give it much of a go. Ive not even been a part of killing a crimmy!
But thats just me. Im not going to make a post when it is time for it to end asking for it to stay.
Nor should any one that wants it to end make a post when its not going to just now.
Im pretty sure that the dev's have it sorted to turn off when its meant to.

In the mean time, dont like the invasion, suck it up and go to a town that isnt effected. Not that difficult!

Of course Trams can work around the stupid things... but why does everything having to do with PvP and Factions have to disrupt Tram and >75% of all the Tram towns for 3+ Months so far and counting...

I'm betting 90% of the time most of the invasions are being ignored on all but maybe one or two servers because most of the people who enjoyed this little diversion at first lost interest after two weeks or so...

Sure, there are a few people who really find this fun... but why aren't the invading forces invading FEL towns where the people causing the whole fiasco are playing anyway?

This whole content seems FUBAR to me. :yell:

I dunno, if we will be able to imbue dropped items or use em for gains via unravelling I'm all for letting the invasions run. When they were new and interests high, they weren't terribly intrusive. Currently though, there's not so much a reason to leave a crimson lingering for days because no more than 1 or 2 folks are interested in it - just leads to unabashed silver farming - which likely was never the intent.

Personally, I think this invasion is just the first stage with more to go! Wasn't there a Crimson Dragon to side with SL and Minax and a Platinum Dragon to side with TB and COM? Maybe I just missed it because I tend to stay out of fel, but if not, we do have more to go!

Aye Taz, in the EM page on UOHerald(I think), it revealed that if Crimson Dragons were coming back to Brittania, so were the Silvers, to oppose them.

Whether or not invasions happen after this, the dragons will be around.

Before the invasions can be ended, it must be understood. The puppetmasters have not yet choosen to show themselves in person.

I was under the impression it was a permanent addition to help keep factions alive.

There was also mention of platinum dragons which haven't been seen yet.

Wondering if they are over, as Sherry the Mouse now says"She has no news"
I checked all the towns and didn't see any invasions.

This is on Napa.

No - that just means no shadowlord-controlled cities at the moment.

The invasions (thought not the faction item changes if I remember correctly) will come to an end. Just wait a little longer.

You realize that anyone who lives on Magincia has had creatures trying to kill them in on every recall for the past year and a half?

Yeah, because the dev's have NO Creativity apparently and have been doing "Town Invasions" for at least 6 years or so since Trinsic at least. They leave them up WAY too long to be interesting, as well. The only difference this time is they decided to take 8 Tram towns out of play at once, for x months for no reason, instead of one, which is normally easy to ignore after the first week or two of fun.

I wish there were more invasions on Napa... I need to get a new spellbook there and some weapons =)

I agree with the OP it's a total nuisance.

It's gone on far too long and it is totally stale.

Turn if off already.

If there was more content added to it or people were engaging like when it was first introduced then fine let it continue but that is definately not what is happening.

Goto everyshard and I can almost guarantee you won't find a soul fighting the invaders. There's not much thrill standing around beating down on a general for 15 minutes at a time. Then rinse and repeat.

They should have introduced certain monsters periodically in small numbers to make it more interested and to have people go check the towns...say a Vanguard Controller or a Daemon Berseker like that happened in the rift. Then maybe people would go check to see what's going on...

But as it is right now it's the same damn thing in every damn town on every damn shard.

All the invasion is really doing in my eyes is detracting how well the events are organized. Pull the friggin' plug on it already. Sheesh!

The trinsic invasion was FUN. I remember pounding on Juo'nar... and I remember when chesapeake killed him prematurely, and they had to revert the shard.

The invasion thing here is just annoying. I logged back in to my main character after two years away, to recall to my hometown, to get killed by a crimson dragon in Moonglow? Seriously? Minding my own business, just looking for a housing placement tool, and *whack*.

And random theives stealing my bandages by the moongates, on poor characters too weak to kill them in return, with no warning? Reds attacking my character in Britain? Lame.

However, I don't mind now that I have a vague idea what's going on... I know when to avoid what, and to check the town criers before I randomly stop by Skara Brae to hit the bank or check for BODs. But some warning would be nice when you're logging in for the first time in years.

I need to get in on one of the fights... I have some payback to deliver.

Thing is, these are invasions that *can* be fought off - they trigger over failing to defend a town (although admittedly it demonstrates the fultility of attempting to guard a spot 24x7, even if you do enjoy the Fel ruleset) and only last until cleared.

Admittedly, the number of players who can single-handedly fend off a crimson dragon is not huge (and I'm definitely not one of them - I haven't even had any luck against those one-hit-kill fallen warriors), but there is an element of player-control of the state of this event.
