I must admit with the Shame revamp and a couple bug-squashing patches I feel pretty good about the future of UO in 2012. Mayans be damned.

But then everyone knows the world ended in 1881:

The wourld will end 12/12 so UO should take out all skill caps and stat caps. Make all acounts 180 mo. old and give every account 100 vet rewards. I want a lvl 999 ninga so I can run all dungeons naked and one hit slap all mobs. LOL

wait....this is UO? I thought UO went offline after 1999 and was taken over by a crappy 2d everquest clone, which was later taken offline and replaced with a hybrid of diablo 2 and lineage.

I can't vote for any of the choices listed in the poll. I can't begin to predict what the future holds. but I try to stay reasonably optimistic, considering how long UO has been going and how much most of us love it.

It warms my cold black heart to see UO linked from the BioWare front page, as I have been a fan of BioWare's innovative RPGs since Baldur's Gate.

Edit: Holy Poo! We have new Christmas gifts this year?! This after the mannequins for the 14th anniversary, Shame upgrade, and some serious bug squashing. There is some definite UO love going on right here.

Don't feel any of the above choices.
Population is so scarce that I dont think they'll put large events/updates on schedule.
They need events/happening that gather people, so more easily they'll revamp things from the past.
And I agree with this approach.
What I would like is to concentrate the efforts on just one client, a 2D one with the gameplay addendums of the 3D one.
With hi-res 2D tiles.
This would preserve UO spirit and keep the game visually enjoyable.

The world is ending with the year 2012... so what does it all matter?

The end is nigh...

I'm glad to see they are squashing more bugs...

Try as I might to be hopeful, it's hard to wipe away the last 6 years of hopelessness... and since so many have left it's a hollow echo that remains... Until we can get a major return of players I see little to look forward to.

As it is now I spend most my time playing Solo. Can't afford to lose any more folk.

To all the sad ghosts that have left UO...leave these boards! You are not wanted, the venom and bile you spew have no place here!

IMHO...UO is alive and well and will continue as such...EA likes the $$$ is makes them!
