Most of my favorite times in UO revolved around PvP. Not that thats the only thing thats fun about UO but these things just pop into my head when I think about UO. Ill start from oldest to newest.

1. I had only been playing for about 2 months and had just hit gm swords in shame. I dont remember how many times I got killed by reds there but I would just stock up and head back in again. After awhile they finnaly started to leave me alone. Eventually I started to help them kill people and before I knew it I had my first red char. We would hang outside of Brit and kill people leaving town. Everyone was fair game except for other reds. Im guessing it was people like us that caused them to make Tram but it was the funnest time I had in UO.

2. Server Wars. There use to be a massive amount of people meet up by brit graveyard and have a massive war the last hour before server down so we wouldnt lose our weps. This was the first time I think I noticed the difference between having dial-up and other people with better connections. Cant remember if it was DSL or Cable or if both came out at the same time. But it was a blast all the same.

3. Factions. If you wernt there when factions first started then you missed out. Huge battles in brit. So many people trying to get into the castle that everything would lag out. I would sit on my thief and steal peopls regs so they couldnt heal then kill them with my DP katana. And the best thing is that i was Nekkid the whole time.

4. My first Harrower. It was in shame and there must have been 300+ people there. 90% of the people there had no clue what was goin on so they were just killin everyone and trying to see if there were any scrolls on the body. I got my very first stat scroll that night for a whole 3 seconds. I remember seing +20 then a gray screen. FUN TIMES!!

Ive had a blast doin other stuff in game but those are my favorite.

1. Last night. I fought, I won, I role played. Sure, I had terrible lag, but that never stops me.

Tomorrow night will be more fun than last night, I'm sure.

The most fun I have had in UO was when you made 10k a day was a great day. This was back when you could hide and fish. Not I did hide and fish but this was how long ago it was.

I've had many funny encounters over the years I've played. One that always pops into my head was just freakish timing on my part. A very annoying player was harrasing people and another faction player got on his red to kill him.

A chase started with this guy running full speed all over the place.. Then by pure luck I tossed a wall of stone infront of him the exact instance he died. The way it looked on the screen however was a guy running full speed then smacking into a brick wall and falling over dead. The animation with the timing was perfect. I think we all laughed for an hour when we saw it.

Early days of factions.

I get home from work and fire up ICQ. My GM tells me to hurry up and get to Magnica. Our Guild was SL and we were trying to take the sigils from COM and it was a stalemate. Com stayed in the base, had traps set and a tamer with some mean WW's.

Anyways I told him I would be right there. Logged onto my fencer, thief and headed to Mag. I knew where the traps were and I jetted right into the COM base. They were in heavy conversation and really didn't notice me to my surprise. I spotted the tamer, tink, tink, tink with a tribal spear. The guy died real quick and I jetted into the back and hid. A few looked for me, past me and I was standing hidden right next to the Brit Sigil. I did a mass message to my guild to get ready for action. I stole the sigil and jetted out with 15 or so ppl in tow trying to kill me. My GM resist and bandages were doing a fine job. My guildmates were ready and we had an excellent battle. We won the day and got all the sigils after the battle.

I started my roleplaying pirate character in early 1998. Back then, Fencing was a useless skill, as it was totally underpowered and could never compete with other fighting skills. I probably was one of the first GM Fencers on Catskills.

Then, in November 1998 they rebalanced the fighting skills and fencing suddenly was very powerful. I remember four (!) dudes in Deceit trying to PK me, and they had a lot of trouble killing me. They took me down nevertheless, as they outnumbered me. However, they were quite frustrated to find unly useless crap in my backpack (a kryss was considered useless), and they wondered how I did cause them so much trouble.
