For those that missed Friday...
The event was effectively a scavenger hunt.
One had to go collect 4 books, using inscription to copy them. As a result, my choice of my mage/scribe for the event, was unexpectedly a very wise choice indeed.
Book 1 was in Ver lor reg (or however it's spelled), the Gargoyle city of Ilshenar. Specifically, it was in the Healers' area.
Those of us with the crystal portals had a leg up, as all we had to do is recall home, go to the portal, say "Ilshenar Mint", and we were at the bank a couple screens away.
The other 3 books were part of a group of 15 evil books. 9 of the books were being held in protective custody until recently (the other 6 being whereabouts unknown), but these 3 were stolen during the recent times of chaos, so we were sent to recover them.
A. One book was in Wrong, in the room above the west-side jail cells. This was an easy second book to get.
B. One book was in Blood Dungeon in Ilshenar, where the cultists who stole it met a gruesome death trying to bend succubi to their will with the book (all the way to the south end in the little round cave area). This was a bit harder to get, than it was to find (there appeared to by extra Balrons and succubi added to the spawn area)
C. The last book was the hardest to find, being in the Central aka "Ankh" dungeon. It was a book dealing with the undead, and the clue was vague enough that
1. It could have easily applied to the Sorceror's Dungeon or Rock Dungeon instead.
2. The clue about it being located in a dungeon with a lot of undead was also misleading, because the book's location was actually in the RATMAN section of that large, multi-entrance, dungeon.
The fourth book (or, or accurately, the 3rd one hinted at, as the Wrong book was the last the Gargoyle researcher described), was not discovered until the event was literally at its end, with most people having given up and gotten in line to turn in their books for their sash. However, Charlemagne had remained on the search, and found the book in a room I swear I'd checked twice before without spotting it. I ran back in (he had no books), copied the book, and made copies for others, while standing in line (provided they gave me blanks), and then they did the same for others. As a result, I believe I was the first to turn in all 4 books.
The reward was a named red sash with no properties, but you had to turn in at least one of the books to get it.

I'm not sure what tonight's event will be, but it starts at 9 PM Central (10 Eastern, 7 Pacific), and is probably more combat-oriented, based on the name. Check the LA Event Moderator's Forum here on Stratics for the starting location.

Saturday night was a massive fight in Mistas, the abandoned city of Ilshenar that was took over by the Juka in Third Dawn/LBR.
Lots of Juka, Paragon juka, and bosses that looked like void Juka, but were peerless paragons (I got both a ML marti drop AND an Ironwood bow drop from the last boss, which was a roughly 1 million HP Medusa reskinned - it didn't have its HP visible until after it had been redlined for a few minutes).
The fight was to rescue the NPC, and there was plenty of death and carnage to be had - especially when the boss used its medusa-derived powers to create evil twins...
And, this being Ilshenar, we had fully trained GREATER DRAGON EVIL TWINS (PARAGON) running around - yes, multiple ones. Holy #$@##$@%!!!!!!!!
