No, pirates get marooned. I'd just defected for a while before I snuck back across the Sosarian border....

Have the shadowlords been used before in gamewide events? (that is to ask, is their existence/background "known" at this stage of UO canon?)

If I recall correctly....when we found that little hole in the corner of the blood dungeon....the horrors that happened down there were in some way related?? I'd have to find that article....grrrr..*goes searching*

they were mentioned by the gargoyle at the beggining of the candle of love quest, the gargoyle escaped the one of the shadowlords, they were hinted at being behind the stealing of the books of truth aswell, and im not 100% sure but i also think the time lord mentioned them when he was actually responding to keywords at the rifts, other then that , i dont recall

The hole in blood dungeon was for cleaning up those pesky FOA folk who blew up ... er temporally/dimensionally revised ... Haven.

Oh - and Otis, thank you for reminding me about the mention in the Candle event. I remember now being a little startled by that because it was a startling blunt revelation after so much crypticness

Yes.

Click here for the UO guide article on the Shadowlords.

1. They were mentioned by Sin'Vrall the Gargoyle at the start of The Darkness quest, that led to the purification of The Candle of Love. Specifically, the gargoyle was an ex-employee of Astaroth, the Shadowlord of Hate.

2. *coughs* Shadowlord Faction anyone?

3. They were specifically mentioned, as was the Faction devoted to them, as part of the fiction for the "The Principle Pieces" scenario, during which the Bell of Courage was repaired by use of Black Rock.

I think a few other times they have come up too.

So, yes.

Despite my evil character's desire for more rubble stealthing, I think it's best that Moonglow not suffer the same fate as Magincia. Lest Queen Zen go UO postal on the lot of us.

Being that this will be my first full big storyline event since coming back to UO in november, i'm hoping for a loooong exciting one. I'm already sharpening my vorpal blade and mystic weapons.

I will be greatly displeased if Moonglow suffers destruction similar to what befell Magincia.

Moonglow is the town, which I would consider my home in Ultima Online, since my longtime only char spent a lot of his time in that town in ancient ages.

Lordy lordy, its been sooooo long since I took part in a "true" story-arc event... (missed the Candle of Love stuff cos we had no internet *cries*) think it would have to be when all the rat coins were spawning and Sherry was being conversational...

I miss having the pages and pages of Inu Spoiler stickied at the top of UHall, knowing that HEAPS of stuff had gone on while I was sleeping and looking forward to catching up and trying to guess what was coming next... *crosses her fingers and hopes*

Aye and we would NOT want that now, would we ?

In all seriousness though some of the same towns are tormented time and time again...........others never hardly touched TORCH LUNA OR UMBRA, OR BOTH AOSIFIED CITIES,,, I SAY, LET DOOM SWALLOW EM UP, and SINK EM... TO OBLIVION !

Ah Queen Zen I agree! TORCH LUNA!!!!!!!!! How many times my home of Yew was laid to waste..... How long did I suffer that horrid swamp!!! Hundreds of my line destroyed by the killing of the trees there. The sickness for years that I suffered as that putrid swamp stained the lands of Yew..... You've no idea the joy that it brought me to have that cleared up after all those long, long years. I am saddened by the loss in Magincia, though my friend lives there still her home about all that remains standing on that isle. The Lady Silverbrook fought bravely to help rid that evil from her homelands... though I think she understood the reasons why Magincia was destroyed. She too had spoken of the greed there. Such the shame... But if Moonglow were destroyed we would all suffer..... the Lyceaeum, the telescope, all those things that Moonglow has to offer.... I would hate to see those destroyed. Though you ever wonder why that nasty ferryman from Doom hangs out there in his off hours????

Sorry I rammble ....... anyway I do recall that little stress test..... I also recall being struck heavily by the LAG monster.... what an increadible beast it was that day.... Most the event was a blur as I stood unable to move against the beast of LAG..... But I look forward to this event...
