The client that I would want...

Would have the features of UOCartograhper, UOAssist, UORudder, UOHomeowner, UOTamer, and some other features such as automatic looting, house inventory, Ventrillo, and chat export functionality.

What i mean by automatic looting, is that in a Trammel ruleset region, I would have an option to automatically open corpses I have looting rights to, in a grid view like comes in the enhanced client. The reason for this is that if I am looking for peerless keys or gold coin, I have to sort through the corpse to find them, and it might be hid, while fighting other spawn. In MOBs, I can't loot fast enough, and it is problematic for me, because I have corpses on top of corpses, and trying to find that darned gold coin. I know that there is a *program* that will do this for me, but I have too much invested in my accounts to risk losing them for using a cheat.

I don't think that there should be a need for third party programs such as UOAssist, or the others listed because they have been around in some fashion for YEARS. The fact that they have been and there has been a need and use for them, should have been a clue to include them in the client.

The optimal client for me would have the ability to support multiple monitors. I can take the paperdoll, inventory, and status, maps, etc.. and move to monitor # 2 while running full screen on monitor #1.

The optimal client for me would work with whatever resolution I have my monitor set up for. With the 24" HD Flat panel I use, the native and recommended resolution makes the windowed UO Client so small I cant see anything.

I would LOVE to play the enhanced client. I really would. But due to a medical condition, I can't. The 3d graphics makes me physically ill. that is one reason I have stuck with UO since 98. Its one of the few games that doesn't make me nauseous and give me a migraine. That is why I have to play the 2d version.

I am not blasting the EC. I tried it. I like the look and feel of it. But without some of the functionality of UOAssist, and because 3d graphics make me ill, I can't.

This is not a rant or troll. Just my opinion. Thanks.

What 3d graphics??

The EC has nothing to do with 3d... actually it is exactly the same as the classic client. There never was and there probally never will be a 3d client for UO.

(The first client called 3D was short for 3rd Dawn and didnt offer any 3d :) )

I like your ideas thou... bring some of those into the EC and it will be even better than it is now :)

Unfortunately, if you made a client to please every player out there, you'd have nearly as many clients as subscriptions. It's a losing proposition. But it is fun to imagine *your* perfect client.

This is the part i have some issue with- Seems like it would make it way too easy. I find the challenge some of the fun. How would this effect the ninja looters?

Don't want to get in the CC vs EC debate (I use both for various reasons) but...
Honestly the EC Client has a lot of the features available from the third party programs. You just have to know how to set them up.

UOHomeowner functionality can be duplicated with just a bunch of speech macros thrown onto a hotbar.

Using hotbars and macros you can re-create UO rudder in the EC.

Haven't tried recreating UO Tamer but with some speech macros and perhaps a couple skill macros you can recreate those in your hotbars.

UOAssist has some of the functionality covered through macros and hotbars in the EC. It does have some gaps though such as no ability to create a crafting macro, the use once agent, the vendor agent, move ore to ground on mining macro, pickup nearby reags, the organizer agent, the sell agent etc. just to name a few. But you can create equip macros for all your weapon switching (and in EC not limited to 4 like UOA) and you can create multiple equip macros for armor and other equipment and they all work faster than UOA. Potions and bandaging all (save invis potions) can be easily dragged to hotbars. Resource counts can be easily thrown on hotbars. The salvage bag mimicked the smelt-unravel recycling agent option.

The auto looting is kind of there in the EC with the right click option after you open a corpse. With the EC targetting system you can get creative with the select nearest object, use selected object, select next object, use selected object, type macros for auto opening corpse in a single key stroke.

EC also saves your journal and chat logs but you will have to manually archive the file through explorer or so.

As for Ventrillo, I think we might be stuck with third party options on voice chat always no matter what the client.

And all this is without using any mods to the system whether from modders exchange, another player, or self made. When you add in those you can do tons more.

The real problem with all these features EC does in fact duplicate is the time and know how to set each of these up on each toon. Sure you can set them up on one character and then go through an explorer and copy over and rename the file where it stores these but even then you are going to have to do some fine tuning and adjusting. And it takes some know how or creativity to set these up.

The other problem is of course EC needs a strong computer and graphics card behind it.
