The lawlessness of the realm have lead to major decays in the infrastructure of all the towns of Fel. Buildings have collapsed. Strange monsters have been seen moving in and out of the towns. Dungeon tunnels have been built by these creatures under the cities. Entering the dungeon, if you can find an entrance, lead to random encounters and strange puzzles.

The entrances change as do the dungeons. Great rewards await those that are willing to risk their belongings. Once dead, recovery may require a long journey. You can try to recall in but there is risk of recalling into the stone of the walls. Oh wait... this is a fantasy. Sorry I was escaping from work.

yes all unattended or unvisited lands should decay at a rate equal to its population IE if shard AA has XXX is land mass= YYY while shard BB has only XX so it gets YY landmass this would have two affects smaller shards would 'feel" full and larger shards would have more room

I would like to see some of the fel cities become above land dungeons. No guard zones, with randon upgraded loot from beefed up creatures.

Although I'm very weary of adding content to Felucca given how players have voted with their feet to stay away from there, and given all the issues that facet and its players have....

I have to say that despite that, my first reaction to this was a smile.

While I don't know if I actually LIKE the idea or not, you certainly have met the "Hey! That's cool!" test.

Not just Fel, but areas in Tram that are sparse in usage should also decay. Period. <thinks of WBB on some shards>

Just flat-out nuke Luna

I just dont see it i wonder the lands of seige it is no more friendly, busy or full of joy than any other shard i wonder from town to town seeing no one for days. if everyne comes to seige because its so like the olden days everyone loves why oh why so many hidden folks ?
I promise if the land shrunk to match the size of population seige would be the second smallest shard behind only origin

When I played ... I had no (repeat ... NO) desire to even go there unless I absolutely needed to. As much as possible my shopping was done outside of Luna walls. Anything there I could get elsewhere for lots less ... pffft.

I don't understand why you can't understand that the players on Siege don't hang out in town...la

Don't we get enough whining about too much Fel content already? Powerscrolls, Faction Items, etc. Forget the fact that Trammel has Doom, Peerless drops, their own Champ Spawns, Anti-Virtue drops, etc. If anything else gets added as Fel only content, some posters here may cry :D

I personally love the idea! This is the kind of thing that UO needs to get players back in Fel.

There has to be something worth the risk to get people to come to Fel...and it has to be something non-localized. The way Champ Spawns are set up, only a handful of guilds run them. With what you are suggesting here, these new drops could be obtained almost anywhere. Good luck to 2 or 3 guilds controlling the whole facet!

A lot of my babble about random exploration is just what you state. So much activity that it cant be controlled by groups, so random it cant be camped. So creative it is endless exploration. So fun... well you get my point.

NO

1) Lot of people still use Feluccan cities, especially role players. Just because you have no use for them does not mean they are abandoned.

2) Feluccan cities are filled with historic buildings unique to a shard. Magincia already was quite a tragedy with much of history lost, lets not repeat it. This is years of memory and hard work put in by hundreds of people that you want to destroy on a whim. Something that you will be bored of within the end of the month, most likely.

We already have enough dungeons in Ultima Online - Fel, Trammel, Malas, Tokuno (and soon SA) side. There is no reason to destroy our cities and turn them into dungeons. It sounds cool for maybe 2 weeks and then its just plain annoying and abandoned. Pretty much like Magincia or Old Haven are now.

If you are so bored with the game, try to change how you play it because believe me there are hundreds of things you have not explored or tried. Try to understand that there is much lore out there pertaining to cities and many guilds whose entire existence revolves around the said city. When you destroy that city, you also destroy these communities which DO EXIST.

Relax. Its not destroying every building. GEEZ. Its saying a theme of decay. Maybe a few walls fall and the old bridge collapses. The sky aint falling. Its a theme. Plenty of ways to maintain the towns for RP and drop a wall or 2.

Destroy a city who said that. Are you RPing under the cities. I think that land is avaible for expansion.

Example:

Vesper gets a few pot holes. A couple damaged bridges. The butcher shop collapses, the Inn way on the other side falls. The Archery shop loses a wall.

Bingo. I bet you can live with that. You have Mag destruction on your brain. This isnt about leveling a city.

Why not base it upon activity, so the least used get more monsters roam the cities. If people drive of the beasts(and Possibly get a nice item or 2) they leave for a period (similar to house decay) if they dont they start to tear down buildings(no rubble though we know how greedy people are), NPC's start to flee bridges collapse and the monsters control the town. Eventually they will overrun the town(which would still be there) and the spawn could mutate into stronger more deadly beasts and start to flow out and invade other nearby towns.

That could offer RPers more than a wet dream could!!! They not only get to band together to drive of the horde but they can also set up "guards" for the beasts to actually help them invade the towns.

Cool idea maybe...but I still bank in Fel and use Felluca towns. Always have and always will. Prefer you too leave them alone. If you dont use them fine but recalling in on my mule to find some beefed up Demon at the bank dont sit too well with me. Thanks.

You are talking about changing the look and feel of a city from vibrant and healthy to diseased and abandoned. Why exactly would a guild whose purpose for the past 10+ year has been to maintain and defend that city be happy about that?

Your idea is based on how you perceive Feluccan cities: Useless and abandoned. You fail to grasp the fact that not everyone shares your perception.

.
The ones actively used (from what i read into his post) would remain untouched but the ones that are rarely or never used would begin to decay.

I like the idea but in REVERSE. Have creature stalk cites for loot from the rich.. Steal food from the towns ppl. Raid the farm of cities that HAVE LARGE populations. They become TARGET. I do like the idea of city decay from lack of up keep to an extent that is.. More like dirty streets with weeds. More rats and animals.. An orc gang or two that ROAM town.. A reward system like that of that for the old reds bounty hunters on some strong named roaming monsters. Allow players to try to slay it and if they fail let the dead's insurance add to the post bounty. Make it loot gold gems and bandages. When slain the victor gets the reward and a title after slaying so many.
But why fel only?

Why not, sounds good.

Why indeed only fel, although it does kind of seem more fitting dunno why it just has that fel feel about it.

Again it doesnt have to be every city. What city are you defending? Are they really in trouble?

You really dont know what my perspective is. So ill tell you. My perspective is reality. I dont care if its trammel, Fel, or Luna. I base myself perspective on playing a game. The game could use some fresh ideas. You do realize that? A dynamic change in 1 or all the towns or how about this... forget towns.

Let's choose sections of forest to become over grown, diseased, or invaded. Monsters dig dungeons etc. Just transfer my idea over to that. Unless there are guilds defending entire sections of forest I think that would work.

Dont lose the idea because of your perpsective.

Right.
You got the idea.
Doesnt have to be full decay and destruction.
Just a tad.
Could be any facet or town
Could just be the edge of all towns or 3 towns. Doesnt matter.

Maybe the edges of each town become worn from monsters.
RP guilds could defend the towns by slaying the monsters. Keep them contained.

Good ideas. Decay might not be removal of stuff but overgrowth and filth.

Stuff that could actually be cleaned and removed by player activity.

I like your thinking.
