Mary pushed back her half empty pint, and rose from the makeshift table the band had put together to have drinks at. She made her way to the where Tom Flint stood talking to a unruly mob of ruffians. As she approached she noticed that the one that she had stabbed in the thigh her first day there was in the group. As she moved closer the man, winced, rubbed his thigh, patted Tom on the shoulder and left. Snickering to herself, Mary tapped Tom on the shoulder and asked to speak to him in private.
Making their way through the encampment Mary broached Tom with a plan that had been on her mind since her first episode of being a leader of a band of thugs and ruffians.
"Tom, you know Able was jailed at Yew Prison after trying to sell loot that was taken from the raid on the Linens shopkeeper on the way to Trinsic" She said.
"Yes Mary, what about it? The silly sod shoulda known better than tryin' to fence it in Brit" he said.
"Well, I want to break him out of jail!" she exclaimed."How better to make myself known than to toss together a prison break!"
Laughing now, Tom stopped walking and placed a hand on Mary's shoulder.
"Lass, a prison break? How in the world ye gonna mangage that with all them guards around?" he asked.
" The guards are busy dealing with the rioters and raiders,Tom. There is so much unrest in the cities now...even the good citizens of the realm are kept busy..what better time!" she laughed.
" And what about that old knight you keep on about?" he asked.
"That old bag o'bones?" she said,"He was injured at the last raid by a nice sharp blade! He is residing in the healers hut now, hardly can walk! I dare to say, he'll be no trouble now!"
" Well lass if ye think ye can pull it off, go for it. Able was a decent feller to have around here.Knows his stuff when it comes to lockpickin and the such.Just no brains fer business or he woulda stayed out of Brit" Tom replied.
Mary grinned at Tom, turned and headed back towards the makeshift bar. Time to gather her bunch of men and start making plans for the prison break...
