God knows those wrestle mages have been long overpowered with their spellbooks equiped.

We need to nerf them a bit more to make sure those people using Dread Mares/Greater Dragons, Archery, and Potions can compete against them.

Trolling will get you infractions :).

But on a serious note, can someone explaine the reasoning behind making spellbooks disarmable? It just doesn't seem to make very much sense to me.

I think that it's a fair change. Every other weapon can be disarmed basically rendering a dexxer or Archer useless for a few seconds. You can still cast spells without your spellbook in hand. Not really game altering in any way. And before you assume I'm a dexxer, I have 2 Wrestle Mages and a Necro mage that I use for my main.

its cool , then bump the swing speed and the dmg on wrestling , its not like its a weapon skill in line with the other by a loooong shot , so argumenting that other " weapons " can be disarmed in kinda silly....

Quite simply it is not enough of a nerf.

When a spellbook is disarmed a mage should not be able to cast for the same amount of seconds that it takes a warrior to rearm his weapon.

Why should a warrior have to run around with 0 offense when disarmed when a mage can always cast? disrupt? A joke as its not nearly the same as having no weapon at all.

All night long you see mages fighting all different warrior classes and they all chain disarm the first second the battle starts to go bad. They can own 15 warriors in a row without disarm yet the first time they get redlined they chain disarm. Its a total joke.

DISARM NEEDS A TIMER!!

Its not a nerf really... Just make a suit that you dont need a spellbook in your hand.

It would be nice to see wrestle do more than just 1-2 dmg per hit...It's a weapon skill investment. Like fencing/macing/swords etc... and when you think about it. If you got hit by someone, it should hurt. Not just be a little flick to the chin.

And don't just talk about mages chain disarming. Dexers do it all the time too. It's quite pathetic really. There is a time and a place to disarm. I find it pretty lame when that's all someone does. Some PvP that is. Pretty much just trying to beat on a dummy.

They probably nerfed wrestling over anything else because: It was easier, less time consuming. Figured they'd have less complaints. And last but not least, they just don't giving a flying monkey's uncle.

And when you give mages a chance to heal while running, or heal himself while attacking or attack while running...

Anything held in either hand should be disarmable. I know they are fixing it so shields cannot be disarmed anymore. Personally I think they should leave it as is. They should increase the damage from wrestling though.

Are you so new to Uo that you dont recall the heal/mage of yore?

You want to heal on the run on your mage? Sacrifice and take on healing /anatomy and carry bandys.

We all have hard choices to make. Either make them or just stop whining

I have one of the few true mages i guess no necro sw ninjisu beshido or any thing else. I dont have a problem with disarm except I should be handy caped just like a Warrior no book no spell Crist if we going to fix it do it right

You know, Id have to agree from a non mages standpoint that wrestling needs a healthy bump. A good 5 or 6 damage from a mage with 0 tact and anat against someone with 70 physical seems fair enough. Now throw in tact and anat at resonable levels and they are hittn for 10 or so and perty fast, hell a good deal of mages run around with weapons nowadays anyway right.
Just do me a favor and support the whole balanced bows issue, either nerf em into oblivion or make all 2 handed weapon types balanced( again as most of you folks know im an archer at heart so im not being biased here) sorry is off topic but what the hell, once I start I ramble forever. I just as well shut up now aye? Oh as far as The OP goes, dude get over it. Its about freakin time. and i see how this could be benificial to the opponent as the book more then likely contains some LRC fc/fcr properties or skill bonuses and would hinder them a bit. Kudos to the dev team. now just fix the dammed crossed para fields and Ill be more then happy to pay my subscription for a good long while.
