Jade Snake Head Talisman- really? Probably get Amethyst Round Thingy Talisman and Ruby Y Shaped Thingy Talisman in the future....

Shadow Cloak of Rejuvenation- too bad it isn't Shadowy....

Wing Armor of Rejuvenation- o.k. that was a no brainer.....

My biggest question is why not patch this 2 weeks ago before the event. That is the norm to patch BEFORE an event not after. Did it take nearly 3 weeks to think up these AWESOME names?

Yea, the names of a couple items really requires the roll-out of an emergency patch, or our sense of aesthetic will get depressed and spontaneously implode on itself, and we'll all get irresistible urges to dress in highly offensive neon colors, which would in turn cause any newcomers to UO to stab out their eyes with brooches Oedipus-style.

imho those green tali's are not useless, with 5% lmc with 2 poison and eater ? for those that are poison shy in their suit could use this and only lose 5% from void (mage), maybe they are over the lmc cap already and need poison resist... its like how the slither has crimmie hp boost, just allows more options to the user.

Well if you really want to get down to it, it was in poor taste to release the items or even start the event without the patched in names to begin with.. This probably wouldn't have attracted attention at all if it hadn't been for that.

Oh and Oedipus was a wimp....if your gonna try and destroy your life out of remorse at least go hard core.. like Arius...

I don't mind the names they chose... don't even mind the items themselves.

But on the other hand... cliloc errors shouldn't happen. We shouldn't be getting megacliloc items. It shouldn't have taken an emergency anything... they should simply have been in prior to the patch and fixed when they noticed that there was an issue on either test center or Origin.

It should never have made it to production as megacliloc anything.

And... yeah... as a roleplayer, I think sense of aesthetic is important. Megacliloc anything breaks that fourth wall. "What did you receive from Lt. Dan." "I'm not sure... he started clicking at me... or something. Megaclick... Magaclock... clickylocky... Guy's crazy if you ask me."

Sure, I can roll with it... and even role with it... but bleh. Sloppy.

"Guys! I just got an awesome item from this quest, but it doesn't have a name! I am totally quitting UO until the devs name this item! WTF is there problem? I don't pay them monthly charges so that they can not name two items! OMG WWIII Will start over these items! I must make <insert insane number of "OMG No name??!! WTF> posts about this! And then when they give us names I must use my time to complain about that too!"

Yep. However... it's meant to be an immersive world. Having done a mission that is supposedly about helping the 'good' side of the world, supporting the queen, and gaining karma, I'd have hoped that something about the names of the items that result from doing that in some way reflected what was done to get them.

It was rather poor that the 'evil' items were the recycled Abyss housing quest items, but I suppose since people really wanted to get hold of them again there was at least some justification for doing that. For the new stuff though - the naming is just laziness, and part of the general 'meh, just churn the stuff out' approach that UO keeps getting.

Could have been better, more appropriate and relevant - but it wasn't. Again.

Just saying that if Test Center and Origin were used appropriately, a fix could have been put in before it was published live. That's the whole concept of Test Center > Origin > Live...

Was it a game breaker? No. Should it have been QCed better? Absolutely.

What’s wrong with us? HA! What’s wrong with the Dev Team & QA being asleep at the wheel? Oh, wait.. Is there QA anymore, or has that fallen on the players now? The bug riddled event is inexcusable, and makes UO look unprofessional.

The complete silence on the issue, aside from Mesanna's efforts to manually fix things (You deserve a raise, Mesanna!) on a shard by shard basis, only compounded the issues.

Again, had this event even gone though a cursory QA process they should have seen the errors and fixed them BEFORE it went live. 'Cuz, ya know, it’s like their job and stuff... rolleyes: But again, we get silence from on high - further eroding their customer service and professionalism.

The Dev Team is out of synch with the p(l)ayerbase. Sadly, this will lead to repeated failures.

I posted this as a joke. Glad that some of you have enjoyed it. And I laugh at myself all the time so you guys laughing at me was fun too. Though it may seem that I am whining it is still pretty pathetic how this last event played out with all the holes in the in game fiction and the lack of items being named before they went live. I don't really care what items are called. There are plenty of items in the game that have stupid names. The issue is that item names have almost always had names when they were introduced not 2 to 3 weeks after they were introduced. In fact we usually have multiple names that are never even used patched into the game!

So, for those who catch sarcasm, that was my intent. For those who just think I was whining, boy, did you ever miss the point- just sayin.....
