Terrible Build Mode Bug

I just went into build mode to work on my house and when I tried to remove a tile, after I removed the tile, I swept my mouse across the screen, and without clicking on anything, I suddenly was out 1k and my entire house was covered in red and yellow puzzle piece tiles. Has this happened to anyone else? I reported it to the devs, but it really ticked me off this time. Its happened a few other times on a smaller scale but this time I'm out a decent amount of money that I spent the entire day making u.u

OMG IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN >.< This time it was only 400, but it ruined most of the work I did with tiles previously. And this was on a reguler computer with a mouse; not a laptop fnigerpad. Son of a bad word that I don't know if I'm allowed to say on the boards!

I thought it was my touch pad, too, at first, but its happened on the normal computer, too. I wish they could do something about it ;-; I can't believe I lost 1k on ugly tiles.

There is no undo button here, like there is on the offline version.

No there isn't

Only in offline sims.

Yeah this bug has been around for a really long time, I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

I have had this happen a few times, every time it was in windows mode. I have never had it happen when i was using the full screen.

Me too. That's something that should be looking into and fixed. It's a very expensive bug...

It also said that the last update included being about to pick up objects which are out of bounds. But that didn't happen - 'cause I still can't pick up the door stuck at the roadside, nor erase those tiles on the 2nd floor, floating in midair.

Oh I hate that bug so much!! I even tried spraying Raid on my computer screen to remove that bug and nothing!!!

The only tip: Keep a low amount in your building sims' account and xfer more as necessary. This way you wont lose 3K on an error.

you may have already tried this, but if you have tiles floating in midair, try putting a column under them, just one inexpensive one, try erasing the tiles around it, move it if you have to to get to other tiles. Id say put columns all underneath the tiles then delete them but who can afford that lol

Okay, there is your problem.

Be sure when you lay tiles in Window Mode to use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate around the lot, otherwise it will lay tile where you scroll to. Another tip is to hit the hand icon in build mode, then move around the lot. I hope this helps.

Okay, there is your problem.

I put 10k on a sim once to build with on one of my lots. The 10k was gone in an instant and I had a size 8 white floor and no money left to build with. Yep I was mad as hell

It has happened to me too, but just in windows mode. Use full screen when building!!!

Maybe I just haven't noticed 'til now, but many of the prices in Build mode have come down. Columns and special walls are still high, but basic stuff is very cheap. Floors and wall coverings too.

Yea, I noticed that too o.o But I wasn't sure how high it had all gotten because I never checked for myself and I didnt start construction on my property until this week. Maybe EA took pity on our simmy selves.
