Vampire throwers are effective. They don't leech mana as quickly as a wraith thrower, but they have significantly improved mobility. The tradeoff favors different foes. I used to run almost exclusively wraith throwers, but found I use more vamp throwers of late. I think much of this is because I can now run 55 LMC and have more mana stacked on the suit than before new loot plus reforging.
Gargs can't ride.
