What sort of character would you build for factions on a production shard if you had absolutely no resources to start with?

Your suit is far more important than your template on regular shards. I run a nox mage on Atlantic, same template I run on Siege.

Lol, with no resources, you should try to build a stealth dismounter. You'll die a lot, but you'll help your allies a lot too.

I'm really bored at work, but serious, I have alot of crap on atlantic too, does everyone on siege have chars on atlantic and if so, is anyone interested in cross shard trades?

Gasp ye can also BUY resources there too, with ye entire 1k of gp, newbie.
Personally, I would make the stealthing tinker trapper and kill em all off that way, let em blow them selves to oblivion on ye handy dandy hidden traps since ya be newb chr and all !
or yu could go for the stealthin gimpy whatever template...nice to stand in the midst of a pile of peeps that don't even see ya, and dismount their arses as a newb chr in factions , helps ya feel some sense of accomplishment without having to be a done scrolled out insured blessed gimpy overdosed itemised artied farty chr. etc. !!

100 hiding
that leaves 30 spare points and who knows with all that insured gear maybe you can get enough to stealth efficiently, would be awesome and a great promo at the same time!

" For real constant faction action join Siege Perious! (Try to say faction action, its fun I assure you.)

It does sound like a heap of fun, I do have very established characters on Atl which was my original shard followed by Drachs but being on GMT most of the action is going to happen when I am not able to join in. Also I open admit I suck at pvp =P

I play HERE and Chesapeake but soo old school even if I AM in Trammel, I dart around cows or whomevers forgetting we CAN push thru em there on the tram side at least, and Nobody gets too close to my backpack...even in Trammel. Can not change whom we are anywhere any facet even. Last time I was in fel PaxLair meeting I clicked on everyone there nearly...guess whom was the ONLY uninsured person there in felucca ? yeh me..never even remember insurance exits...*never was fond of it* and my personal bless deeds there still sit in the fricken bank........sooooooooo yeh npcs will buy ye stuff or u can buy junk from them for chicken feed 3x less than here for regs etc. there off npcs, if ya still bluebie.
When the Shire did their story nights on the road, they had *guilded* those of us from Siege...so like the evening they did shire goes to Chesapeake in felucca PaxLair...I had two of me at the meeting...QZ of Ches. my own guild tag, representing oldies on Ches for SIEGERS haha and then a newbie named Miranda in KSS blues, with the Shire on the road guild tag on me as the *Miranda* quite a trick to be two of me of two shards at one meeting !
But yeh yall should get a guild stone so it reads........SIEGE or SPF or something Siege or Siege Perilous Factioners SPF something. . least yall can find yourselves in the mob easier that way by same guild tag then.

Depends, is this a permanent (long term) character or short term?
Short term you won't have the resources to truly compete, so focus on either survivability or team needs.
Hide/Stealth/ninja are always great for survivability with smoke bombs.
But I'd focus on one of three support templates:
- Faction tinker, need no pvp equipment, just build a bunch of traps and hope it kills someone.
- Detect - go around revealing all those annoying stealthers for your teammates to kill.
- parry/mage - you won't be able to really compete, but if you can pull out 110 wrestle/mage/med/eval/resist/parry rest in focus, what you can do is survive and simply use your mana regen to xheal your group.
