Target Cannot Be Seen

Is there some trick to get around this error? Trying to cast RC on a variety of surfaces gives me this error.

I'd be happy with a macro that just target a viable spot. Anywhere.

This is horrible in fire particularly and the lengths my pet will go through to get stuck is absurd..

Yea I run into this all the time casting EV’s, lots of times I can only see one tile away, I believe this got worse to this point a couple years ago.

When there are dips and hills in the floor....as in Fire Cave....I always try to cast my RCs to the target's closest high ground.

Is there any way to consistently identify a viable target?

I have gotten the very same
Target Cannot Be Seen
while trying to cast a arch cure on myself as well., was driving me nuts. The only thing that seem to help was casting night sight (And I am a elf and wear NS earrings) go figure.
