Taming training with L2 book?

If I buy an L2 mastery book, I won’t have access to consume damage, which I’ve used on other shards to raise taming skill. Can I just as easily raise skill from 90 using the L2 empowerment instead?

Indeed - I’ve gone from 90 to 105 with it so far. And to correct my faulty memory, you just have to macro consume damage x10 and click, don’t have to select empowerment

Poster was talking about L2 so no consume - but macroing any of the choices that are valid is a gain chance.

The gain chance is when the choice is made. So, if you have mana to burn, you can

  1. select empowerment,
  2. choose pet,
  3. choose any of the single-pet levels ("As One" won't work with one pet),
  4. and once the check is made on the choice, click empowerment again to turn it off.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 until you run out of mana.
this should get gain chances relatively fast.
