Tamer only?

Hail fellow Britannian's,

I recently returned to the game and i've been enjoying it so far. But one thing that stands out to me, is that with all the recent changes to dungeons, shame stands out to me is that it's not very friendly to anything other than a tamer for me.
I've taken my legendary bush/chiv archer and my legendary scribe/mage down there wielding a super ele slayer, but both done horribly compared to my tamer with a greater dragon, whose only problem has been finishing of the highest level creatures as he currently has peace on his template.

So I guess what i'm asking, is there something i'm missing that i need to add to my archer and mage to make them viable as they are the most fun characters to play, or is it just the current situation where my tamer is top dog at present, or am i just that bad? :(

Mage is -
120 magery
120 eval
120 med
120 resists
120 wrestle
100 scribe

Archer

120 archer
115 tactics
110 resists
100 anatomy
100 bushido
70 chiv

Mystics have nearly replaced mages in terms of PVM due to Rising Colossus, a summon which is much more powerful than anything a mage can conjure. If you EV with a friend you should be able to stick with it as long as you have considerable mana regen, but it's a tough task otherwise. For example, Cowboy and I used necro mages and we just did direct spells after awhile on a crazed mage, because after awhile they run out of mana and then you can just kill them easily from there. But it takes such a long time even with two mages that you really need a RC from a Mystic or a GD from a Tamer to get things going in a timely manner.

As a solo mage, try farming Wind Elementals with an Air Elemental slayer book. Use EVs to draw contact away from yourself. Not too bad if you can use a Luck Sculpture and have some luck on your suit to help bump what you get.

Oh--also, if you're just coming back, consider lesser slayers now do MORE damage than super slayers to the specific slayer type. For example, Air Elemental Slayer does more damage than an Elemental Slayer to Air Elemental-type creatures (like a Wind Elemental). Your archer should be able to eat Wind Elementals for breakfast.

Thanks for the tip on slayers, can't wait to test it out. :)

I grabbed some corresponding slayer books for shame and it is definitely ego boosting with the amount of damage I could do.

But i did test the super slayer vs the direct slayer on a local spawn of water elementals and the super slayer won hands down, so is it just the updated critters that are effected?
