Tamer/bard pack hunter advice needed...

Hello all. I'm in the process of building a bard tamer who will mostly hunt with a pack of hellhounds (one of the old leader hounds as one of them), and I was wondering which would be the better of the two: provocation or discordance. I've never used either with a tamer. Some basics are that he is only for PvM and is more of a RP character for my guild (secondary tamer for fun). The only skills set in stone thus far are:

110 taming
120 vet
120 lore
120 music

Then 120 in either provoke or discord. I don't think I'll be hunting with anything bigger than hellhounds or frenzieds as packs, maybe riding a fire steed (he's sort of supposed to be fire-themed) when he's not pack hunting. I'm not even really sure how high of a level of creature he'll be going after, as I'm not so sure the potential. I have a 720 cap, and some remaining points may go into magery (recall, invis, healing) and/or hiding. Depending on the overall, some +skill equipment may be needed.

Suggestions?

If you're primarily a pack-hunter... why have the tame/lore/vet skills so high?

100 in each will probably be more than enough, and gives you 8 stable slots... and frees up some skill points!

fire steed needs 110 to fully controll

but if your just going pack animals

80/80 for frenzieds 90/90 for hellcats and hellhounds

at 90/90 you can get 120 with jewls for stable slots

lock vet at 70 or 80, and use jewls when you need to rez,

it will be better to heal with magery, since pack animals are fragile, youll be able to pre-cast a greater heal, and insta heal if one gets hit, and isnt one shotted

another tip, get a gaman to tank for your pets

tme lore vet 90/90/70 plus 50 skill points

btw 120 lore and vet is useless for small animals, becuase youll be healing more hp than they have, and if you need to heal that much, odds are they are dead

im on siege with a pack of frenzieds and i use peacemaking,

without vetting my frenzieds ostards can kill rotting corpses, dragons, lich lords, ice fiends

soon swoops and miamas!

when gm they should be able to kill any hard monster (around dragon strength) without your help, if your fighting anyhitng bigger, balrons, skeletal dragons, vet wont help, because if they get targeted they are dead

Mostly the high skills were for stable slots, to be able to stable more than one pack. I thought about jewelry to do it, but ever since the changes in things like vamp form I've been worried they'll change stabling too (so that you need real skill to utilize slots). As far as the fire steed goes, I only plan on using one as a mount while *not* in combat (to fit the tamer's fire theme). I may change the taming-related skills according to jewels. The only thing I'm definite about with the character is that he'll be hunting with the 4 hellhounds a lot, and he's going to be a tamer/bard.

So to the original question... is provoke or disco more effective with a pack tamer?

Go for disco forsure, with 120 disco and a pack you'll rip through things fast, my fav pack is my 2 firesteeds and a summoned imp from spellweaving, i find other packs hard to keep alive against tougher monsters..
