Talking moongates?

Standing in luna tonight, near the moongate, I called my beetle over to me by saying "all follow me". Above the moongate the following message appeared, "Sir? Ma'am? Whatever you are? Allow me to let you in on a little secret... your pet has a name. Show some respect." I thought it was another player, so I double clicked on the words hoping to pull up a paperdoll. Nothing. When I looked at my journal, the speaker was not listed. Just : followed by the message. What is that?

from time to time, the gates get upset if you dont use your pets names, and..if you continue..the gate will take your pet from you.
its from the inu event, thats barry the moongate and has a few key words that i dont remember.....try saying the word Continue to it

Who is Inu? Ah, the question of the ages. Many a scholarly tome has been written on the question. Prophet? Madwoman? She said so much that came to pass (and more yet that never did). Much that was once known as been lost to the mists of time, yet on occasion, one can still find fragments of what was learned.

Let us just say that Barry was an NPC who was using a moongate at exactly the wrong moment and well, never got out. Like many NPCs of his era, he would listen to the conversations going on around him and respond to key words and phrases.

I spent many a moon studying the words and teachings of Inu, before I became deeply misguided by her dwarflike description of gargoyles. Ah, that time of innocence ... of grander dreams and a kingdom reborn.

Inu the Crone......Wow did she cause a ruckus didn't she???

Poor Barry got stuck inside the moongate...he's been there for a very long time. I've grown rather fond of him and talk to him often.

Actually, that secret room in Ilshenar had a nice continuous spawn of paragons. Of course, personally, I don't really want to fight a paragon lich lords ... but if that's your cup of tea ...
