Talk me out of poisoning on my Paladin

Hello! Currently I have a
120 Mace
110 Chiv
100 Tact
100 Anat
90 Parry (Heph)
90 Healing
100 Resist
2/6 Prot Paladin

Was thinking about mixing it up some, I have 90+ poisoning I am currently training up, I was thinking of dropping healing or resist and adding in poisoning w/ the poisoning mastery. What am I not thinking about (spawns, high level paragons, etc...) that would hinder this character from completing content?

EDIT: I have characters to feed parasitic poison, ingots for barding, etc etc...

Chiv is more effective with positive karma. Poisoning provides negative karma.

What is the point in poisoning for PVM ? Especially if you are not mage of a kind . They have poison fields. Which don't need to carry bottles

Your main problem is going to be that there are no macing weapons with infectious strike. You can use the poison mastery to poison a mace, but it will never inflict the highest level of poison (lethal). I wouldn't dump the idea of poisoning all together because it is a whole lot of fun. Run it on a stealther with fencing. Add ninjitsu for fun with shuriken! Magery is also a ton of fun with poisoning. Poison may not be the most powerful thing but there's just something about stabbing something, stealthing away, and watching it die. I can't live without it on my thieves!

I have a very similar build...

120 Mace Fighting
120 Tactics
115 Parrying
120 Chivalry
105 Healing
110 Anatomy
080 Healing

Getting about 50 points from items and jewels. I have enjoyed it more using the relatively new Barbed Whip recipe for Whirlwind special move.

If you want to go with Poisoning, you should use Fencing or Swords based on the weapons that can be used for Infectious Strike. While Poisoning can be fun if you're just looking to mix it up, as others have pointed out, it's not necessarily the strongest PVM skill. It's definitely alot more effective in PVP. As others have pointed out, most Poison builds will also involve skill lines like Ninjitsu and Stealthing, etc. So the question is how much do you want to change up your build in order to make it as effective as possible?

As a reference, I created a similar thread a bit back about Poisoning... see some of the responses I received.. here:

Good luck!
