Talismans

So can anyone give me ideas on the fastest easiest way to obtain mass quantities of talismans?

I figure this would be the easiest way to get my luck jewels from the turn in during the next phase.

Any advise on how to go about this would help a lot.

Hmm, you get random crappy talismans from doing the hand-in quests in Heartwood right? I think?

That was one thought I had so far. Not big on crafting though I would rather maul some creatures with my dexxer and loot some tallys if I can.

Know of any monsters that drop them regularly and can be beaten in mass amounts quickly?

From uoguide.com:

Talismans are special charms that can be equipped in a character's paperdoll. They can possess a wide variety of properties, many of which can only be found on talismans. Normal, random talismans drop both as rewards in quests and on monsters in dungeons associated with Mondain's Legacy. There are also several unique talismans that can be received from the community collections and as minor artifacts.
So I guess mobs drop them, I had a look through the loot tables of a couple but couldnt see anything with talismans as loot.

P.S. Youre lucky Im bored at work today, otheriwse Id tell you to do your own damn searching!

you'll get 10 from heartwood quests in the time you'd get 1-2 killing things. Even more, if you use KR and its "make number" and "mark as quest item" options on its crafting menu

Was also going to mention that when you arent getting talismans, you might be getting recipes, so theres another 100 points as well.

Or...and I think Im right, but the Scrappers Compendium recipe is a VERY rare drop from the Heartwood crafting quests as well. Confirm Basara?

yeah, from the tinker-related quests (since there are no scribe quests).
mid-range tinker, a LOT of ingots, and the Necessity's mother quest will haul in the talismans and junk recipes - and maybe even score a good one.

Also remember, if you keep clicking on the NPC, it will change quests without having to reject/close the ones you don't want, manually.

Might have to look that quest up. I was doing the wind chime one (failed a lot, but plenty of gains) and the empty bottles one. I simply loaded up my beetle with 1600 bottles and handed them in as the quest became available.

I was doing the quests from the wine making guys, theres two of them, and Id alternate double clicking either of them till I got my quest. Having to tag everything as quest related is a pain in the arse though. KRs function sounds great, I just cant bring myself to DL and install it.

heartwood it is I suppose. I also started beating down those exodus minions or is it overseers? both really but the big ones give you 1 to 2 power crystals per kill and they spawn fast which is 250 to 500 points per kill.

Bring a healer eoo and go to town on em and you start racking up the points fast. You can fill a bag of those things in about 30 to 45 minutes.

But I think I may hit the heartwood quests a bit also because its fast and easy with KR (never use it and forgot it eases quests a lot)

But yeah thanks for the advise guys much appreciation.

Here is my little trick in the heartwood. I put 5000 bolts on my beetle and load up my pouch and do the leathal dart quest. There is a slight delay in between quest. But I read stratics or what ever in between. If you click on both of the quest givers sometimes you can do the quest again in under a minute. The most you have to wait is under 3 minutes.
Instead of clicking each quest giver, I set up a macro with uo assist. On the first quest giver I use one button and a second button for the second one. Instead of getting carpal tunnel syndrom from mouse clicking, all I do is hit (usually) z or x and it switches in between quest. I have gotten many recipes, some kits and many tallisman.

Go visit Sakarai outside of the turn in person... get the badge quest for citadel.

I cant guarantee every time you will get a talisman, but I have gotten a few that way.

Not to mention, they have some decent loot.

talisman should be 50 at most.
i can get a quest reward callecd a bag of treasure, that sometimes contains talisman, only in 5 sec. quests in heartwood hand out talisman frequently, but bag quest is more fast and cost-free.

why on earth such easily available item worth as much as 2 years old event item Ophidian order?[confuse]

Also, another trick......I figured out that you can't accept the same quest twice. So....if you can find another npc who offers that quest....accept it from them and you'll have one less quest to cycle through on YOUR guy's list.

Specifically...I used to do tinker quests. You can accept enough quests from other npc's so that you only have two left on the tinker guy. Makes it MUCH less frustrating than to keep clicking and refusing quests.

I agree with everyone who says the best place is heartwood. Sure most of the talismans suck...The trick is to keep going til you get one thats good.

Jackpot last night. Was going to drag my Tinker in there and grind out windchimes. Logged him in and realised he's packed full of gear from a house Im attempting to redecorate. CRap. Logged in my mage instead and decided to do the Tick Tock quest. Hand in 10 clocks.

Set a few runes for the various tinker shops, and started buying clocks in bulk. 22gp each, my mage can hold about 80 of the things.

Head into Heartwood and start handing them in. Lots of crappy recipes, and a random talisman thrown in.

And then, boom! Scrappers Compendium recipe. Oh boy. I just sat there, staring at it...couldnt believe I managed to get it within 15 minutes of starting. Was wondering if the fact my mage is GM Inscription had anything to do with the drop.

Couple minutes later, another boom! Pendant of the Magi recipe, and then two bags after that I got the Resillient Bracer recipe.

Was a great result. Ended up with about 20 talismans, and around 70 crappy recipes, but theres an easy 10k+ of points, and 3 extremely rare and valuable recipes.
