Talismans and Odd Protections

Most people don't pay much attention to their talismans' protection mod. It's usually something just tacked on that might be helpful, but might not be.

That being said, there's gotta be some funny ones out there. I know my Totem of the Void protects me from something that... well... in my opinion, I don't need protection from. What about you?

Mine, by the way, has this:
Frightened Orc Protection: 21%

My favorite one is:

Talisman of Clean Bandage Summoning

Horde Minion Killer 68%
Snow Leapord Protection 77%
Masonry Exceptional bonus 28%
Masonry Bonus 16%

THAT talisman OWNS!

At least it summons CLEAN bandages...I'd hate to get someone's dirty old used one.

No, not yet, although I did get attacked by a infected thrush the other day.

Now, see, I just mentioned the thrush ... oh, no, could it be a conspiracy?

I don't think that's the sort of "blackened" I'd want to eat.

My undead character has a bloodwood spirit that protects against crows.. handy when you're made out of bits of other people's corpses.

I've always had a fondness for my 100% tropical bird killer talisman (not because I feel any malice towards tropical birds, just because of a funny memory of getting a martie off of one on the way home after a long frustrating week of dueling paragons).

I do wish they'd have had talismans only have one of the three groups of mods ... they seem a bit cluttered with talisman type + combat bonuses + crafting bonuses (lich lord killer ... and tailoring bonus!)

I got a Lava Lizard protection Totem, and immediately passed it over to my tailor to use for spined leather gathering - and put it on before I realized it was an "owned by" talisman.

Still, he DOES gather all his own leather (except for barbed, these days - stupid greater dragons). He uses a Reptile Slayer skinning knife, using it on the corpses saves more room in his pack for leather (as opposed to using a different Reptile slayer and packing a BWC). Besides, it actually fits, in the role-playing sense, to use a skinning knife as a tailor.

They need to have the protections and killers (and perhaps even slayers) just dip into the lists of mobiles and be created for any type of creature.

I would've killed for a Solen Infiltrator Killer 100% back in the day.

I have one with, " Cow protection 45%", hehe.

You guys need to be checking how the game "sees" some of the named creatures that were added in with ML. This one in particular, while not 60 percent, could be very, very useful.

Eagle protection as you are probably aware is protection against swoops, and I wont make any guesses as to which actual one it is, but I do know that Pyre, is NOT an eagle.
