Bah.. for the repeat.

Sadly there have been several of these kinds of posts.. while 70%+ think they should not even exist, it seems to take 99%+ to get anything done (RoT and vendor fees are the only things that the shard agreed on), and the only things changed in the past year.

What do you think?

If any item used in this game exists until you die, then most likely
that player will avoid dying...the idea you proposed inhibits its use...
if the item loss prevents interplay then the proposed idea is just wrong.
Your proposed idea is just the same as wanting the items to not exist.

What would everybody's suggestion be on a workable solution for character-bound faction arties then? Not just "get rid of them", but something that's enough of a compromise that enough people could agree on it, while still solving the issue to some degree?

There's nothing wrong with them now. If you don't like them, kill the player wearing them and trash the items rather than sell them back. Most people who are against faction arties will still sell them back... greed > principle.
