Tactics?

I am raising a Warrior from scratch. I have been working him for a couple days and all of my skills have been rising except Tactics. It's not locked, I have plenty of point space, but it is frozen at 38. Any news if it's bugged? My Swords, Tac, Parry etc are all over 50. Confused here.

I arrowed it down and then back up and I gained IMMEDIATELY. There is a bug for ya... *sigh*

I'd say mongbats, lizardmen, and harpies in the low 40's

I used the Stratics monster index. Graveyards will serve you well for a long time, then polar bears.

Best all around place I found to gain in all.... Despise. Start at the top floor & work your way down as you gain.

Corpsers work well into the 60's but any monster will give you gains until the nasty nineties

Bingo.

Once you hit 50 and complete whatever new player quests you're on, head to Desipise, start at the top floor, then work your way down until you hit Ogre Lords up to around 90ish. From there head to the Yomotsu Mines, 2nd room, where 2 warriors spawn faster than you can kill them. You'll be at 120 in a matter of a couple of days.

I'd buy it in Haven to 40 (400 gp)
Take the quest to 50 (free Alacrity type gains)
Buy jewlery to 80 (under 5k each)
Golem train to cap (taking off jewlery when you're that much over 80)

Eat any powerscrolls you're going to use as early as possible too.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and Sort By: Skill Tactics. You now have a list of almost all UO critters sorted, ascending on Tactics. Locate your sweet spot.

But...shouldn't you be doing the New Haven quest for Tactics...a fast 50.0? I'm not sure, never done it, but isn't there a quest for Tactics?

Follow along killing things like Barding and Taming...... same ranges per skill....

If I am you, I would go do haven quest until 50.

Then hire a fighter (6gp) one and train until 75

You could gain healing and anatomy at the same time also

Then hire (7gp) one and train until 100

By this time, many of your warrior skills should be up as well

Then hire (8gp) one and train until 120 or use golem
