There is no longer a 3D. It's either 2D or KR which is a completely different client.

Depends on your Laptop, but I have heard of others playing it on one.

You will have to DL the client and then get it to work. (GL with that).

Well, KR is quite good for crafting, when you sit on one place and just take materials from storage and store you products to BODs or submit as quest items. Or you can prepare two potion kegs and after short ten minutes sleep you have them filled (well only one and half really).

On the other side, if you want to recall around or figth anything, stay in 2D. My crafter died several times, just because it had taken client too long to refresh after recall.

With KR, if you asked 10 players opinions you'd get 10 different answers. You just have to try it for yourself. Some people can't play it well on very high end systems while others play it just fine on much lower end systems - lots of hardware compatibility questions.

As for myself, I use it exclusively for everything - building and decorating my house, crafting, fighting peerless bosses - you name it. The biggest reason may be because I use a modified "skin" for the KR client which fixes numerous bugs and upgrades many systems - it's a whole different game with a mod!

I'd recommend visiting the Stratics KR forums to get all the help you need regarding KR in general and the mods specifically: http://vboards.stratics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=281

P.S. Use a "download manager" program to help download KR. You might also benefit from the advice of Sir Bolo quoted here from the KR forum:
I recommend downloading the KR client from fileplanet here:

http://www.fileplanet.com/177540/170000/fileinfo/

It was recently updated and only requires about 150 MB of patches. You will need to register to fileplanet, but you can use the free registration - don't pay for the premium registration!

Don't get the client directly from EA or from any other download link - they are still hosting an outdated version from 2007 which requires more than 1 GB of patches.
I hope it works as well for you as it has for me!

I play the KR client exclusively and only on my laptop as I dont have a desktop computer. My laptop is a Sager 9800 (i think) and it was designed specifically as a gaming laptop (paid $3,100 for it 4 years ago).

IMO KR rules even with its bugs. I could never get used to the 2d client as everything seems so small.
