Surprise in Despise

So, besides the big shock factor for my Necromancer, why were fairies all over the level 3 entrance to Despise (Atlantic) last night? Nothing says "fun" like recalling into a fury of fairies and getting fried, and then not being able to recover your stuff...

Actually, that sounds like a lot of fun

It would be very easy to get your stuff if you just walk back in there instead of recalling. Wither works very well against fairies. Just run (not recall) in there, start spamming wither around the fairies. You will kill the lot of them.

Actually they are ethereal warriors and they are not easy to kill like faeries.

I stupidly started the quest with a character I haven't played in over a year. I had no idea that when I got to the second pedestal, I'd be teleported into Despise right beside an ethereal warrior that I couldn't see because I had no night sight I also had no idea that it would follow me up the stairs to res kill me on the next level

Pardon my ignorance, but what quest would that be?

I stupidly started the quest with a character I haven't played in over a year. I think I'm following the wrong part of this somehow. I went to the EM building, read the book, said compassion to the bookcase, to the tile outside & to the shrine. None of which did anything, read the book on floor at the shrine, copied it down, it hinted to going to despise. I go there the book seemed to say I'm on the wrong path.
