Usually it is April or May before my gametime gets cut back and I cut back accounts and drop houses. This year is panning out different than the last 15 or so. I will e letting all but 5 of my accounts go dormant as they subs expire and dropping the houses owned by those accts. I will keep a couple of island houses and the 3 most popular training houses with the keep hub open to those houses.

In real life I am starting a new farmers market in a town of 30,000 that has no real farmers market and all of the crap involved with that is eating huge chunks of time. Then several expansions on the farm and a limted amount of Tyrath to go around :)

I will still be logging on and playing but just not nearly as much as I normally do through the winter and spring. I love UO but I love the Thunder 5 Ranch a whole lot more. I don't love dealing with Government types but its part of the RL game in my business. CYA all around just not as much.

Easier to let everyone that uses the houses know here that I am not quitting UO just does not make sense to pay for accts or rather houses I wont be using for many months ;)

where is your town if I may ask?
We are in Southern IL. and opening the new market in Mount Vernon IL. we already serve Mount Vernon with our on farm store and weekly delivery but its a pain for customers and us alike to arrange times to deliver and have the store open (We are 35 miles SE of Mt. Vernon) as there currently is no producer only farmers market in the town it only makes sense to open one and give other small farms a venue to sell their goods. The community has shown great support for this, the T5R has a very strong reputation for being honest straight forward and we have the connections to bring together great vendors and to get the ord out to make it a very succesful market.

I know that feeling I grew up on a farm just like the T5R that got pushed under in the 80s and consolidated into the ever growing factory farm model. Ended up spending a good portion of my life working in or around cities to save enough money to buy the land, livestock, equipment and everything else it takes to make a working opertion started saving in 1985 and finally had enough to really get going in 2008. Hard work but the demand for what we produce is out of this world. Not to mention the work is very rewarding in the fact that you are producing something of real value that people actually want to buy. A certain satisfaction at the end of the day when you sit back and look at what you accomplished. I love looking at the truck and trailer loaded with fresh produce and freezers full of meat as the sun sets all ready to go to a farmers market the next morning. Wondering if it will be a good market and we will come home a lot lighter or bust market and cattle and pigs will have a lot of fresh produce added to their diet. Biggest thing and best advice I can give anyone wanting this life. #1 know what you are getting into, it is not a 9-5 job even on a micro 5 acre farm. #2 Don't go head over heels in debt, I have seen so many small farms with huge potential end in bankruptcy because they had everything but their shoe strings financed and one minor set back tipped them into the red. Hydraulic pump on my old massey tractor went out both the upper and lower pumps had to be replaced $3500 doesn't sound like much but if you are paying payments on everything and just staying above water that $3500 can cascade into a nightmare that cost the farm. The ones who make it are the ones that start small and expand a little each year and start out with good solid used equipment. A new tractor like the massey cost $60,000 I bought mine for $4200 and have had only the hydraulic problem outside of regular maint cost and have 5 years on the old gal now and can reasonably expect another 12-15 years from her. Will take a lot of repairs to get to the $60,000 a new one would have cost. In hindsight I might have been wiser to borrow the money to start the farm and and started 15-20 years sooner but one of my goals was to be 100% debt free and stay that way. The good news about how I did it is it will take an act of God to bankrupt me and I will never go hungry. And this is probably way TMI LOL

My wife read your reply and said "that's all I want, what he has" lol....we may have waited too late in life for that kind of change though. :)
