Suggestions on how to kill Minions of Scelestus solo ?

Due to real life impediments, I have not had the time to get this Quest done at the start of it, when most players found interest in it and the hunting grounds were satisfactorily crowded.

These past few days I have tried finding some way to gather the Quest's required components but I am having hard time killing the Minions of Scelestus alone. No other player hang around the area, at least at the time that I have been able to play these past days and looking for someone in Chat returned noone interested in the hunt.

Bottom line is, if I want to complete this Quest I got to find a viable way to kill them solo.

So far I tried a Tamer with a Greater Dragon but the Dragon got shred into pieces rather fastly.

I also tried a Bard with 120 Music/Provoke and a Daemon Slayer (20% success rate) but the number of fails is way too high, still, often the Bard needs to break line of sight because of incoming threats and even if not, the 2 Minions of Scelestus provoked onto each other take forever to damage each other.

Do I need to give up on completing this Quest or is there a viable and reasonably effective way to solo them ? What template, gear and tactics is best advisable ?

mystic thrower in stone form, heal after every fireball and use RC's to tank

I would get them up on the ledge with me safe below pre cast flame strike step in range last target step out. Takes about 15 mins per kill. Its cheap but effective.

An abc mystic thrower is what I use to solo, 10-15 minutes per kill. I have also had success with my bard.

If you want to run them with your bard get the discord mastery. I use the spot just north of where you pop in, You teleport up and pull 2 close to the ledge, hop back down and you are safe....ish. Provoking them isn't easy but if you get a discord off first then the success chance is increased slightly.

So, discord one and then provoke it on to another, using invis to break agro. You can then either discord the other and then get off the final provoke or just try to provoke it back onto the first one, they don't do much damage to one another at this stage. Then you hit one with the bard spell, throw up some eve's and watch the damage rack up, or you can fireball spam.

Not the easiest template to solo them with but it is possible, the bard works much better in a small group, you deal much more damage and have a higher success rate provoking them onto other people's summons. You will also want high poison resist, anything less than 65 and you are going to get oneshot by the breath attack more often than not.

use a thrower with 11 range. its fire breath is 10 range

What shard you on popps? I'm pretty much having the same problem added to the fact that I'm old now and my reflexes aren't all that fast anymore. The only way I'm ever gonna get the books is with partners.

the solution is mentioned above a few times. range 11 soul glaives on a thrower, any sort of throwing template really. just get the minions on the ledge, walk back, heal and shuffle forward until you start hitting them. I actually don't like doing them in groups. I got a scroll on almost every one of them when doing them solo. Killing them easily under 10 minutes and within an hour and 1/2 I had my book, and several duplicate scrolls. Best way is AI over and over. I hit them currently for about 100 with AI, alternatively, 70's with CW and EOO, or just 60's with EOO alone. Advantage with that is that you can read a book while the killing is taking place. Not unattended of course... That is with a demon slayer and 100 DI. Oh, by the way, if you park a disco character next to you on a second account, it goes faster, and the numbers above reflect this situation. subtract about 10 points of damage if you don't disco the minions. No reason not to get your books if you have no friends to play with

when i solo i get one on a ledge by itself and ebolt the thing 500 times with my demon slayer book... takes a good 20 minutes at least.

I use my Mystic/Discoer/Weaver. Cast collosus, discord then use bombard with demon book. When collosus goes mass sleep and cast another. Demon stays targetting the collosus 90% of the time. Word of death at end. Takes me about 10 mins or so.

If I were so inclined to do the questy stuff any more my tactic would be this:

Make some friends.
Bring them along for the ride.

I know on Catskills, there's more than enough people who are willing to help out a hunter-in-need there... not sure where you hang your hat these days.

Be nice if you could just shake your finger at it and it would die. Sadly that doesnt happen but there are a few good suggestions above. I still think shaking your finger would be a good new magic spell that did aone hit kill

What damage should I expect to do ? I am asking, because even at 120 throwing/116 Tactics I find myself only doing 40-50 damage........This is when I hit, of course, which is not as often as I would like.........

if you run 120/myst/focus use enchant weapon spell and it will put spell channeling on the weapon for you.

I use a samurai with fencing/parry/bushido/chiv/tactics and 120 healing/anatomy. Bronze demon slayer leafblade, keep feint up all the time.
Was a bit hard at first, but with a bit of practice you can easy outheal them ( confidence spam helps alot here ).
Average time is 10-12 minutes.

The op explained his motives well enough for me. People like you bother the crap out of me. Righteous bull crap. Perhaps your real life people skills are well balanced by your avatars wonderful interactions with his online toon-friends. Apart from the fact that I enjoy playing the game with others, when they are around, I turn the computer off if I want to make new friends.

Get two on the ledge provo and disco with some meteor storms and keep them even in hits... Finish off the one that dies last with EVS and fireballs using a deamon slaying instrument and spell book. Have tons of mana and you should be able to stay out of their magic range at start while at the same time being in provo range to get them onto each other.

I did a test today just because of curiosity.

You can actually solo them with a greater dragon, if you have two hours to waste. You just have to lure one of the freak near the "teleporting" line. Then you send the gd in and spam greater heal / arch cure. When the gd is at 10% of its life (and that can happen after a while if you have a decent dragon) you call it back and use bandages. If get into the well know (almost classic i'd dare to say) stuckbug - use the ball of pet summoning.

Repeat until the minion is dead.

The level of boredom is beyond imagination.

I tamed and released about 40 lowland bouras and herded them with the joat herding of my human tamer. Then I grabbed my greater dragon and led them all into battle. The setup takes a bit of time, but it worked very well for taking them down. Just have to replace the few bouras who die along the way.
