Suggestion For UO Store

If EA is listening...sell tokens for veteran rewards. When I left the game 6 years, I left a lot of the reward I had cashed in, in my house, so of course, when it dropped, *poof* went the rewards.

Now that I've come back, it would be nice if I could actually get some of the rewards I enjoyed the most.

What do the rest of you think? Would you buy a veteran reward token if the EA store had those available?...la

Well with the way the Origin store is handling being hacked and everyone being billed for crap they don't want.... think I'd wait to sail that ship till Mesanna and company get the UO Store In-House or at least under the DIRECT control of Broadsword and out of EA/Origin and their F'ed up system.

but dont make is specific to items, just make it so you can buy a vet reward token to add to your account.
and lets me realistic about the price, we would need to be in at around $5 and work up from there, to cheap and the market flops, too much and no one is gonna buy anything. i vote $10 a pop, im getting that price cause you can already get soulstones and ethy challenger for 9.99 with a legacy token.

what i really want is a Land Barron expansion that will allow me to have a small house on every shard in game so i can stop living out of bank boxes or having to hide a bag of goodies behind a wall so my other players can get items or supplies from my other guys.

Selling all the rewards is fine, but please make shard shields MUCH more expensive than all the rest, or don't sell them at all. This is because if they sold shard shields for normal or cheap prices, no one would buy the normal transfer tokens anymore.

Also, they were made account bound for a reason. It was so only people with 14 year and above accounts could get them due to loyalty to the game. Selling them in the store at all goes against this reasoning.

I have said it before and I'll say it again if they put in a basement for me to buy to upgrade my account I'd pay 25 bucks for an expansion that gave me a teleport tile that entitled me to a 32x32 customizable plot on some dark facet that served as my "basement/Dungeon" under my home and held the same number of lockdowns as a castle... Heck I'd upgrade all of my accounts too! Just to gain the storage.... and for the coolness of having my own dungeon. If they are worried about what would happen if your account lapsed then the same thing would happen to that which happens to my house.... only that would maybe all go to the trash... where it might end up in the cavern of the discarded... but if I quit paying for my account then it should poof after 90 days just like my house.... or maybe the crap from there drops with all the rest of the house in a big crate at the house sign of the owner house... who knows ..... limit one per house. That way you don't have someone buying 40 of them and putting them in one house.

But I agree Poo..... I'd like to have a house on other shards too... But I'd like more house on my own shard first.

They need to start by putting back items we used to be able to get and adding items that have been available in Japan. I'm thinking the secret chest (love those things!), lady bugs, BOD book dyes, tiny rugs, etc. The items already exist, already have people wanting them, and have been sold before.

Your basement idea is great. I'd upgrade a couple accounts.

IDOC basement loot should show up in MiBs and treasure maps!

Damn! Now that is a neat idea. IDOC items being added to a loot table somewhere. Maybe brutal/impossible to code, I don't know. But that'd keep people farming/fishing/T-hunting.

There are loads of things that could be added to the store to generate a bit of revenue for UO. I guess that side of things is still controlled by EA / Origin and maybe the guys at Broadsword can't add/edit/remove items currently.

Honestly, transfer tokens are WAY overpriced, and always have been.

How about house bridges, to allow 2 side by side houses to be connected? Make them a buck each, and connect 2 adjacent tiles, with the ability for bridges to be placed side by side?

Agree 100% They would make a killing at 5 bucks each. Far surpass the amount they earn off them at $20 a pop

How about if you have 4 18 x 18's side by side by side in a quite little snow alcove in malas, you can combine all of them to make a giant house.....and a basement....with extra floors....just sayin'

Some great ideas. Some new and some old like the basement idea. Point is there is a huge market for in store items for UO if it was done right.

Two problems ..
1. The store is a joke and would need to be seriously revamped, be secure, and actually work
2. The player base is too small. If you're going to go down this micropayment route then you need as big a player base as possible, not a dwindling one.

Unfortunately, even if sucessfull, the extra cash generated would only be siphoned of by EA and used in other projects, much as they do with the bulk of the subs revenue now. To make the store truly work you need plYers in greater numbers than we have now to the point where EA start to invest in the game to
Maintain the players. Only F2P can do this.

Yup. Its a no-brainer. Why a better store with more bling and vanity items such as vet rewards wasn't introduced years ago is beyond me. What a missed opportunity.

I have two that I want to use for some UO pixels. I have tried everything (including registering them for online transactions), but still get 10049 error code every time I try to use them.

Rather than buy items for cash at the store id rather see a system that is used in other games of this nature where you purchased a 'currency' through your account. This would be done through account management. This currency (call it what you want ... platinum, mithril, whatever ... Neverwinter uses Astral Diamonds) when purchased is used to buy items in game from a Vendor. There could be a vendor at each bank and you can purchase anything that they choose to put on the vendor (items, services, tokens, gametime etc) buy using the 'platinum' that you have bought.

The 'platinum' would show up as being available to each character on the account you bought it through. A system to show gold as a 'counter' which each character has access to has already been discussed as a substitute for gold piles and cheques so it is doable for this new currency.

This way you dont even need the origin store,. Simply log into your account and use the option to add platinum. Its a single purchasable item which is used to buy in game items and services This model is widely used in other games and works.
