Stupid question on Sampires and LRC

Do you Sampires run around with LRC, or do you carry necro reagents? If so, not even Sampires are invulnerable, so when you die is it a major inconvenience to run back and get more reagents?

i keep about 30 of each vamp reg in stacks of 5 regs per pile. i'll usually honor myself to get corpse. Never had any problems.

I wouldn't run lrc. A solid samp suit is a challenge to build as it is without throwing in lrc.

Especially given that as a sampire you are only going to cast vamp embrace and even then rarely.

If I were going into a situation where I might die, I'd take a set of arcane boots or the like. Otherwise, I leave the regs and necro boost in the bank:thumbsup:

Of course.

Reading these 2 replies I am reminded of an important fact that I keep forgetting.

The traditional "Sampire" template is less about Necromancer spells than it is about the Vampire form.

That's how you can get away with 30 of each reg; and/or turning form at the bank and not worrying about it; and little or no LRC. The actual spells you cast aren't all that numerous.

In this template, Necromancy is less a spell-casting skill than it is a power boost for your warrior skills.

Thank you both.

Some sampire templates swap anat, magic resist, and spirit speak. They toss spirit speak to treat the template more necro. In which case yes regs/lrc become a requirement.

But the spirit speak sampire is kind of a rare bird due to the mana requirements... very hard to get high hp, max weapon swing speed(stam), AND have a reasonable mana pool.

On my sampire, I only swap anat and magic resist. And in the 18 hours I've used him, I think I've died once and had to get back into vamp form.

The hell kind of sampire doesn't just use arcane boots and carry an extra gem or two?

Whats the actual damage malus when you swap ana for resist?
Assuming you do pvm with that char, what sort of monsters are you killing usually?

I´m just wondering if the Life Leech would still be "enough" when trading anatomy for resist. For like soloing Paroxysmus or things like that =)

Well really there's absolutely no reason to use resist instead of anat when fighting Paroxysmus <_<

But really, most of your damage is from tactics.

I am mostly trying to set my sampire up for champ spawns or the like but lately I have been concentrating on getting a feel for it vs "top end" champ critters like dragons, demons, etc.

During my demonic spawn practice, I have been playing with demons(also to get silver) When I had 100 anat on my template, I was doing right around 41 on average. When I swapped over to 100 resist, I was doing 35 on average. This was just using EOO and about 100% total DI on my suit/weapon. No demon slayer. While I was only doing two monsters at a time, I felt I was killing them in the same number of hits but slightly less time because I wasn't paralyzed:coco:

The gain of resist for me was when I went to an actual demonic spawn and was able to advance it into mid second level spawn with no issues. I think the resist helped out a TON. OTOH, I haven't tried the same spawn without resist. But, I didn't have much problem due to curses, paralyze, or mana drain. I think the mana drain would be a killer at a spawn when you have desperate need of a whirlwind for health:thumbsup:
