[Tailoring] Studded armor bonus question...

I am looking to finally get around to making a studded armor suit to take advantage of LMC. My question is 'can I use a studded armor piece that says Mage Armor to still get the LMC bonus, or does that negate the bonus I then desire?'

Secondly, can I also believe that the LMC from a single studded piece 'stacks' the additional 3% atop any LMC that piece may already have as a characteristic?

You will need to remove the mage armor property from it at the mage guildmaster guy. It costs 250k
