Stuck At 76.2 Hiding!

Okay. Am I missing something here? I am stuck at 76.2 Hiding without a single gain in six hours of constant use of the skill. Ate a SoA this morning and gained .8, but nothing since and ate two more SoA's without a single gain. Character is an elf and she has originally wearing all leather, then studded leather. Successfully hid, but no gains. Very frustrating. :(
