If all else fails, wipe it clean and start over. That's always my best advice to virus ridden CPU. Good luck though, hope you get back up and running!

Dont have pcrepairmen do it you can get the software to wipe your harddrive from different places over the net . I am geting software from my laptop from ebay and ioffer. i tried to redo my laptop but it would not take any of my disk. So now i am geting two different disk windows operation system disk. The Second one is a Master boot disk.It can do a low format on your harddrive and redo the os as well

Miss ya and come back soon! and yeah, worst case scenario - format and reinstall your OS...It takes about two hours for me to do Savanna's computer (which I have to do every month or so since she is always downloading free trial games --gives her PC adware out the wazoo!)

Jamie,

Why don't you make an image of the drive the next time you rebuild that machine? I use the UltimateBootCD4Windows. It has a couple of imaging programs. The website, www.ubcd4win.com, has decent instructions. I used it on my wife's machine when I swapped out a new primary hard drive and had issues installing a particular program (I can't remember what now). After starting over twice I decided to image the drive before trying to install the problematic program, so when it screwed things up again, I just restored the image, losing maybe half an hour instead of several.

Also, if she's like my son - plays a downloaded game for a little while and never goes back - you might look at Microsoft SteadyState. It automatically restores a machine back to some saved setpoint every time it is rebooted. This is usually used in hotels, library's, etc., but you might find it useful.
