Strength required to counter curse

I'm making a new char, and he is going to wear a woodland chest (str req 95). Outside of Dreadhorn, could someone tell me how much extra strength I am going to need to ensure I never drop the armor? I will be running with 0 resist btw.

I think that might depend on the Eval of the caster. The Abysmal Horror in Doom room 5 *I think* have the most at 200, and *I think* the Slasher also has 150, so to find out I would probably go to either of those and let them Weaken/Curse me.

130 is ok even againist the abysmal horror, but it is not enough againist the dread horn...

You could craft (or enhance) the woodland chest with ash. Ash wood gives 20% Lower Requirements, thus lowering the strength required to wear the armor. Were you considering using another type of wood for the armor?

If you do lose armor...Drink str pots prior to combat and eat apples w/ a macro when cursed. Have a macro to re-equip. Look at EP.

I made both the chest and legs of my Darkwood set out of ASH so they'd be DH proof. I got tired of my pants falling off with no women around...

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm elf, so I won't have the JOAT bonus.
And God, you seem right on the equation being outdated. 115 eval vs 0 resist should be 19.5 strength reduction, not 21-23. I guess I'll just have to figure it out through practice.

Yeah thats also wrong. Its based on Eval for a start.

Fairly sure its a % too and not a flat number. Neither forumla seems to take that into account.

Just be thankful DH does not do cold damage. The properties available from the other wood types don't seem worth it, if you risk unequipping your armor.

Why? It's an all 70's suit in vamp form. What would cold damage have to do with it?

Well, I don't have any strength increase in my suit, so I will have to run at 120 strength unless I make big changes.

Do you guys think I will run into too many problems with this? I'm running 3/6 and will have a macro for remove curse->dress.

What all baddies will I fight that can decrease me from 120 to below 95?

Abysmal Horror...
Shimmering Effusion...
Stuff with 120+ Eval? Perhaps.

I don't expect you'll run in to much but it'll be fairly obvious when you do and you can then adjust accordingly.
