Stratics forum passwords

Today when trying to log on a message poped up saying my password was so many days old and I needed to change it. Of all the years that I have been on stratics this was a first. I'm a bit concerned because it has never done that before. However, it would not let me to the site without putting a new one in.

Is this something new that Stratics has? Or should I be concerned?

Happened to me and many others. I think Petra mentioned something in a thread a while ago over the same issue. It's all dependent on how long the account has been active. Apparently mods have to do it more often then us though.

Mods had to do it every month I think, It's been changed thankfully!

If I remember right, it is once every two years for normal forum members. Since the "great crash" that led us to use the VBB forum system was in May of '08, a lot of members will be receiving this around now.
