Stratics community growing stronger?

I'm not much of a buff on the state of the Stratics community, but I just checked and there are 342 users connected to U.Hall right now! I swear a couple of years back when I was here every day, I rarely saw more than 100 users on U.Hall at any given time.

Anyway not much point to this thread other than to say - go team Stratics it's genuinely nice to see this outpost of UO community going strong after so many years, and dropping in again leaves me thoroughly reassured in UO's continuing strength and prosperity!

EA - take note! Stratics is where it's at

Regardless, my point still stands Stratics is nevertheless going strong as ever and I still get that fuzzy feeling when I see all the old names still about!

That's what the last wave of dupe bans was for, I mean, they had to remove 150 others to make room for me

Well, I can't speak for the other 200 users but I can only tell you that I am back to playing UO, and consequently revisiting uostratics due to the total lack of faith in the modern MMORPGs that have been released in recent years.
Since I quit UO back in umm, 97 or 98? I have played countless number of other rpgs but instead of the genre getting better it has actually declined due to the corporate tendency to play to the least common denominator in order to sell their product to the vast majority of consumers. This has left us with games in which all we do are chase arrows on a map (or HUD or a ghost trail pathway) around an instanced world to different waypoints, hacking our way through boringly easy, repetitive and predictable obstacles all of which is supposed to represent a series of "quests" which are little more than time wasters that any 6 year old could complete without giving it any real thought.
Being completely disenfranchised with the lot of them I saw a little ad for a 14 day free trial of Ultima Online and thought it might be nice to relive some old nostalgia for a couple weeks and take a peek at what changes have occured and lo and behold here I am addicted to the living, breathing world of UO all over again.
I have to say that another big draw for me has been the awesome community that this game has and stratics is just, well....also awesome lol.
