Is the Steward in any way limited regarding which items you give him/her?
I tried to give out gold to players/newbies with a test Steward on TC, but he wouldn't response to any of my characters (I tried it with 2 accounts: The same account which placed the Steward, and another account with not co-owner privileges in the house).
You can put gold on a Steward, however it won't dispense it. If you are looking to provide a means of providing new players with gold, I would suggest stocking up your steward with something like Gems. In the example of assisting newer players, this can be a great way to introduce them to NPCs that will buy items for gold, a valuable means for scraping together a little extra spending money (Chuckles Luck here I come!). Think along the lines of give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime sort of thing.
