The night was stormy, and the lone figure on the ship hurriedly anchored his ship to the dock in Britain. How fitting the weather was for his return journey home he thought. He threw the dock hand a few gold pieces and told him if anyone started snooping around his ship to come find him at the local tavern right away. With that said the figure threw up his cloak and quickly worked his way over to the tavern by the dock. Upon entering he noticed not much had changed, even the ol barkeep was still there.
"Evening there, Raphael, how about some ale for an old friend." said the stranger.
"Sure mate, but I don't recognize who you are." said Raphael.
With a grin the stranger removed his hood and stabbed the bar with a red dagger that held a ruby on the hilt. The Barkeep looked wide-eyed from the dagger to the blonde bearded figure.
"It can't be you, the navy said your dead! What hell did you crawl out of Kerrs... Er Captain Holley?"
"Kerrs be fine lad, and it was true, them Navy bastards captured and killed me, sent my soul straight to the underworld they did. But alas even em demons can't hold back a pirate, 'specially when there be revenge to be had!"
"Well plenty has changed since you were gone, it has been quite a number of years after all... yet you seem younger then when you left this realm." said Raphael.
"Aye matey, that be magic fer you. I was undead for quite some time - yee should have seen me then, harharhar! But alas ah'met an old necromancer who taught me a spell that could bring me back fully into thee mortal world, and it even granted me some youth! Which is great, ah'll need plenty o' energy to kill them Navy bastards!"
"Well hold your horses mate, ol Tiberius of the USN passed a few years back, and you won't believe who the new captain is... your old crew mate, Greyylene." said the barkeep with a grin as Kerrs coughed up some ale. Raphael wiped the bar where Kerrs spilled some ale and proceeded to fill the old pirate in on the things that have changed since his departure.
The two exchanged stories and laughed late into the night. After some time, Kerrs told Raphael that he plans on rebuilding the old pirate port of Baldmor. Kerrs would need a new crew now that he found out most of his old crew had either died or had given up the pirate life. Things were finally coming together for the pirate, and he needed all the friends he could muster at the moment to make sure all went smoothly. After polishing of his perhaps 14th ale, Kerrs stood up and bade his old friend a pleasant evening before returning to his ship. Upon setting sail again Kerrs pondered what sort of destiny the gods had planned for him this time around...
