Stealth Archer Template SP Style

After a long absence. A few months I have returned. Played UO for years got KR and couldn't install it and EA was unable to fix problem, so I left UO for WOW. Then got new computer because the old one crapped out, and now can't install WOW, but KR works just fine! LOL....
Now I have returned. But I want to try something I never did before..... Siege Perilous.

1st Template Stealth Archer

Archery
Hiding
Stealth
Anatomy
Healing
Ninjitsu
Bushido

Now for the question. Should I drop Bushido or Nijitsu for Tatics or Chiv? Since I know I'll eventually go Factions I'll need a good PVP build but stealth is about Hit and run tactics not standing toe to toe against someone grinding away.

Any thoughts?

Skip bushido. Skip chiv. Get tactics definitely...for damage, but especially considering you can't use weapon specials anymore without it.

I wouldn't take stealth above 75. Keep those points for something else.

Finding a good balanced weapon is going to be difficult. Balanced because you have ninjitsu and can't use shurikens using bows without that property. Another option is getting only 50 ninjitsu just for smoke bombs.

If you're going solo I'd use a crossbow. Gank squad and you might end up using a heavy crossbow for the overpowered dismount ability.

Good luck and you might consider joining the guild NEW.

Well if you truly want to play a dismounter I would run this but I hate them so be warned

120 Archery
120 Ninja
90 Tactics
100 Hiding
100 Resist
110 Healing
80 Stealth

I play a mage and I rarely have a problem with any dismounter out there... But I have a hard time killing Tairon and I believe he runs a template similar to that I think he is probably the best dismounter playing SP at this time IMO

Reason for resist I run parry so on most dismounters they miss me I mana vamp them and the fight is over ... they cant smoke bomb they cant go into form etc.

110 Healing - Run Enhanced Bandages

Also make the character an ELF and have someone craft you a lot of Bloodwood Armor pieces they all come with Hit Point Regen 2

With that template plus a full suit of Hit point Regen Armor the only way you should ever die on that character is if you just passed out at the keyboard...

Bandages, HPR Armor, Potions, Magic Resist, and Smoke bombs... = GOD MODE

I'm curious as to how 120 ninja helps. Imho, ninja above 50 is a waste unless you are using deathstrike or the advanced animal forms.

What about this then?

120 archery
50 ninja (smokebombs)
100 hiding
75 stealth (no fail in medable armor)
90 tactics
90 anatomy (ability to rez)
90 healing

rest in med or focus or tactics/anat or tracking/detect.

If you decide to run the bloodwood armor, you'll need higher stealth because it's nonmed.

Well my reason would be going into Wolf form gives you an extra 20 Hit points so if you are in some serious trouble and about to die if you time it right you can grab an extra 20 hit points to help you out...

And I also Like the ability to go into Dog form the Hit point regen from this form Stacks with the Armor you wear... Ever tried to kill Dyno when he was in that form... talking about a pain in the ...

Well, that's true. Dyno wears a hp regen suit and runs in dog form. He probably has 25+ hpr, and is VERY hard to kill.

Without anatomy, you can't cure either. Correct?

i would not recommend dropping stealth to 75. i am at 100 and still getting revealed sometimes

I believe you can use jewels to get into Wolf and keep your ninja skill lower. Once in form, then take the jewels off. If you set up a macro, you can change back into last form even though you do not have enough skill. It used to work that way, not sure anymore. I keep enough ninja to get into form (think it is 90, i forget)

its not about being able to get into form, its about being able to do it once and run away and not do it 100 times before you succeed.

revealchance is based on hiding and stealth. so obviously you dont reveal that much or as easy.

No, I understand why you want to change into form, but llama is just as fast (less skill points) to just get away.

Was not sure on the other point. Seems everyone gets revealed just as easy lately.

At 75, you'll never fail your stealth check if you are wearing med armor. To wear a bloodwood suit and never fail, I had to take stealth all the way to 120.

You'll still get revealed by a gimp spamming detect hidden, however. Or by walking around pretty much anybody on a regular shard where they have passive detect.

well, then we back to the plus 20 hitpoint part. thats very little skillpoints invested for what it gives you. and 20 hitpoints can indeed make the difference.

as far as detect goes, i forgot the exact formula, you can find it on stratics. however if you try to detect someone with the skill, it directly compares to the stealthers hiding and stealth. so the chance to get detected is indeed lower with 120 stealth than it is with 75 stealth.

Good to know. I have just heard of many with higher stealthing getting revealed.

little lost as to the 20 hips you were refering to.

chances becoming lower still are chances. you can detect a 100 hider 120 stealther with just the 20 human detect. you can also win the lottery.

when you go into wolfform, your hitpoints and your hitpointcap increase by 20 points. and im saying those 20 points can make the difference.

Thanks everyone I appreciate it. Those templates sounds very good to me.

Petra, as to your recommendation of not going KR and sticking with Age of Shadows. I don't want to do that. My reasoning is that since KR will be the base platform from which Stygian Abyss will launch the sooner I get used to KR the better. It's true that I did enjoy The 2d client, from the music to the interface. But I feel that I may be missing out on quests and gear if I don't go KR. So the sooner I get used to it the better. Besides it gnawed at me that there was more yet I couldn't see it.

So my build will be
120 Archery
120 Ninja
90 Tactics
100 Hiding
100 Resist
110 Healing
80 Stealth - I thought Stealth would have to be higher but if 80 is good enough for PVP then I'll take it.

Now, one more question. Should I raise those skills one at a time ie say I lock them all until I GM Hiding then work on Stealth...one by one?
