Stealable Artifacts

The devs have to do something about the static placement of the stealable artifacts. So far I have seen Oars,Push me Pull me and Bedlam books stolen as soon as they appear.

They all spawned while I was running through the rooms and I thought I had some really fluked out luck to have them spawn right while I was checking but to my amazement they all disappeared before I got there.

Now I realize some ppl are lucky also but to be standing right next to the item every time they spawn seems a little far fetched to me.

Did they completely forget how the doom artifacts were scripted and hence they had the stealables spawn many dif tiles all the time.

since years i ask for a change.....it is IMPOSSIBLE that the same player can steal the same item again and again.... for example a arti8 has a respawn timer from 8 days
+ / - 1,5 days .. nobody in the world can watch a spot around 40h ATTEND
90% of the arties are worthless,so the scripters only camping the higher arties

i see thiefs on the same place from server up till server down :(



all arties should spawn RANDOM

Random artifact spawn would be stupid.

But what the devs should do instead is institute a counter. So for every artifact you steal of that type, you'll have a delay timer added to when you can steal it next This gets higher and higher the more you steal.

The counter should be proportional to the respawn timer of the artifact, so artifacts that spawn quickly has very small timer (perhaps seconds or minutes), while arties that spawns very rarely has a long timer (hours).

This would mean that someone could easily steal their first artifact, but scripters can't take away their second arti from you, as you'd have a window where they couldn't steal it and the more they steal, the longer window you have.

They made wood and ore randomized to stop or slow the scripter... (not that it worked just has ruined things for the average joe).....

They need to make the spawning of stealables RANDOM... Don't have things spawn in the exact same spot at a predictable time.

They just need some more 10 and higher. And let the EMs place them in the general area and land they belong to.

Could have a band of new Pulse demons spawn with the highers like a Tmap chest does. Each demon pulses an area damage of different element. Being near one as it spawns be like getting a full hydra attack.

Highers could also have a puzzle trap to solve to pick up. Just point of fact most things introduced by the Code Mages proves they don't play the game and the abuse carries on.

The only reason I created a thief was same reason I did begging. In case an event comes about the gives that skill or only that skill gets play.

Also on the highers they are another perfect trap for weeding out the butt munches like the library/museum or frostwood tree. They are a known and simple observation would keep the hacks burning up those new player game codes. For an 11 arty or higher be like follow the money and fire bomb the account that really profits. They will keep pissing on the onion patch and try selling them as new flavored organic onions.

Thats exactly it, randomizing things just gives scripters even more power and screws over the average player.

They need to make the spawning of stealables RANDOM... Don't have things spawn in the exact same spot at a predictable time.
Yeah, that will help the legit player, NOT! How exactly do you propose the legit player find these artifacts that are random now? Scripters will just have an autodetection script running and viola, they get it long before any legit player can find them. This will screw over the legit players completely.

Yeah, that will help the legit player, NOT! How exactly do you propose the legit player find these artifacts that are random now? Scripters will just have an autodetection script running and viola, they get it long before any legit player can find them. This will screw over the legit players completely.
Still a small chance is better then no chance.

Your idea doesn't give a small chance, it gives no chance.

My idea gives a great deal of chance for everyone and ruins scripting the arties permanently, the same for people who just farm them.

Even just tweaking the surrounding spawn so it can detect said scripters and reveal them, or add in a new monster that sneaks around and reveals hidden peeps. Ensure said spawn can't be lured away from those spots either, meaning that the scripter has to contend with that spawn if they wanna hang around there. And they'll be visible for all players to see, making them very easy to report even if they re-program their script to work the spawn.

My thief has GM tracking....I stood for a goodwhile, tracked and saw no one, item appears and vanishes, still tracked no one and no one appeared....as they should. This happened twice.

It took me months to figure times on the abyss stealables, even then, there were some, I just did the math wrong or couldn't be there for the next pop up.

Randomizing would make it impossible for the newcomer, especially with an item that spawns every few months. The idea mentioned about a timer of some type may help.....something has to be done though.

added note: At the memorial statue location, those fire pit sluggers WILL reveal you.

And so how exactly do you propose a regular player stay hidden there?
You stay out of the detect range of said monster(s) because you're active enough that you can move as you need to, and re-hide too. Or you work the spawn instead of just hiding and waiting. That does make it significantly more challenging than simply waiting and landing a steal on the spawning item, but I wouldn't have an issue with grabbing arties under those circumstances. I certainly think that's better than messing with the timer. If the item is stolen when you arrive and the timer is random then I'd say that's a lot of time you could waste even on the common arties. I'd rather fight for my arties than mess around like that ;)

If they would simply do a tiny update daily to knock out said program, there would be no issue at all. update some npc's hair color for all i care. this is a known simple fix yet they refuse to do such a simple thing.

i keep quiet mostly on these/this issue cause i think they (someone there) uses the program themselves and they would suffer.

it's just MY opinion and until they stop it, it will continue to be that.

It's like manager turning the camera from the cash register so they can steal.

You become visible when you steal. There is a flaw in your telling of your story.
