Stat cap?

I am confused here a bit. I haven't played in quite awhile and I am working on my crafter. I used a Stats PS +15. According to my limited math skills, I should have 240 stat points to play with. As I have been Blacksmithing, I got his strength to 120 and locked it. I began smithing again and I look up and I have his Dex at 71 and his Int at 52. A combined score of 243. What am I missing here? What is my cap?

you should have 245 as cap if your character (account?) is over 6 months old - all over 6 months get a +5 as a bonus (255 is max)

*edits* oh, and items can take you over cap too, if you have jewels etc with +stat onthem =)

Well I figured out my cap, I am not 100% sure why though. I have a 245 Stat cap. The EA site says that humans have a "higher carrying capacity". Does that translate into a +5 Str. bonus?

No ... actually the basic stat cap is 225. And as above mentioned you get another +5 for your account beeing older than 6 months. (This actually was a bonus for all chars that were in existence when AOS got introduced. But it got changed later to an automatic veteran reward.) Adding you +15 stat cap brings you to ... tata ... 245. :)

All this means is you can Carry More weight/stone.
Example
A Human with 110 Str can carry 485 Stones
A Elf with 110 Str can carry only 425 Stones (60 Stone Diff in Wt Cap.)

The Up side to being an Elf is the Extra 20 mana you get for being one
